Unearth's McGrath Subs for Mark Morton On LOG Tour
Due to the upcoming birth of his first child, Mark Morton will be leaving the end of Lamb of God's European tour to return to Richmond. Subbing for Morton on the last six shows will be Unearth guitarist Buz McGrath.
Testament Guitarist Checks In from the Road
Testament guitarist Alex Skolnick has checked in with the following tour update:
"We're in the homestretch of the tour and it's hard to believe it's almost over. This one really whizzed by, as we've hit a lot of places we were long overdue to play, such as Atlanta, New Orleans and St. Louis. Despite the fact that Testament, Unearth and Lazarus AD are three different generations of bands, there is a strong sense of camaraderie. Highlights include Sayreville, NJ, where we were joined on stage for 'Disciples Of The Watch,' by Sirius XM Liquid Metal host Jose Mangin, proving that he can sing metal, as well as spin it. At that same show, Buzz from Unearth did a stage dive, causing the wrath of a security guard who, not realizing who he was tried to throw him out unsuccesfully, as we watched from the stage (it was a wild night). More and more fans have been participating in the VIP packages, and it's been fun to get to know them better and let them in on the set up process with the shows. We're in the great state of Texas now, working our way West. Just over a week to go before we wrap in Cali for the last three gigs, Sand Diego, LA and SF. Thanks to all the fans for making this a great tour for all three bands!"

Testament Practices What they Preach in Detroit
Testament is currently headlining their own North American Tour, supporting their 2008 album “The Formation of Damnation.” This is after a stint on the Metal Masters tour last summer, when they were disappointingly relegated to be the first band on stage, and ended up playing only 25 minutes a night. While that may seems reasonable when the other bands are Judas Priest, Heaven & Hell and Motorhead, it is still a disappointment to see a band like Testament get the shaft. This tour is the complete opposite, with Testament ruling the night despite strong performances from Unearth and Lazarus A.D. While the openers gave a good shot at upstaging the headliner, in the end everyone knew their place.
Harpo’s in Detroit has a unique setup. First off it is a particularly blighted part of Detroit. The evening starts by going through a metal detector while being closely watched by security guards carrying big hand guns. The doors opened at 6:00 pm, but there was hardly anyone there right at 6:00, and the parking lot had no tailgating. After the show the 24-hour Popeye’s next door was completely empty. More...
Daath Announce Summer Touring Plans
The Atlanta based quintet DÅÅTH recently unleashed a straight shot of pure, unfiltered American metal upon the masses with their new full-length album, The Concealers, which is garnering numerous rave reviews (see below). The group just completed a very successful month-long North American trek alongside Dragonforce and continues their touring onslaught throughout the summer touring the U.S. with Goatwhore, Abigail Williams, SWWAATS and Abysmal Dawn. Be sure to visit the bands official Myspace Page to view their complete touring itinerary.
DÅÅTH shot a video for the scathing new track, “Day Of Endless Light,” with director Robin Fuller (Ghost of a Thousand, Shaped By Fate) last month and click on the link below to for a sneak peak into the madness that awaits.
Eyal Levi (guitars) further comments: “DÅÅTH is definitely back. We just wrapped up our North American tour with Dragonfoce and Cynic. Now that the dust has settled we have, with proof and via memories, come to the conclusion that this was our best tour ever. On all fronts: crowd reaction, merch sales and new friendships. And any memories we’re too blacked out to remember were caught on film anyways! We have tons of amazing footage from this tour that we’ll be sharing with you guys for a while. Both bands are incredibly easy to tour with because they are composed of such great individuals. Like Kevin Talley was perplexed about, ‘Man, there are no douchebags on this tour! Usually there’s at least one.’ I couldn’t ask for a better tour to come back on after our seemingly centuries long break.
“Coming up in the world of DÅÅTH are quite a few badass and exciting things. First we have a video we’re about to release for ‘Day Of Endless Light.’ I’ve said in the past that I didn’t want us to create just another metal video with five dudes jamming in an abandoned building or warehouse. We wanted a video that was more of a visual work that just carried a dark and slick vibe and could be considered an animated work of art. Well, so far I personally have only seen 10 seconds of it and holy shit! It is definitely on the way to achieving the goal. Director Robin Fuller and art director Jorden Haley are the kind of people I need to always be working with.
“Also, there are some exciting tours in the works. In June and July we’ll be doing the ‘Conquer and Curse’ tour which features our brothers from Goathwore. I can’t say enough how much I admire and love this band. Headlining will be Abigail Williams and the first two bands will be Abysmal Dawn and Success Will Write Apocalypse Across The Sky. This tour is going to be a 180 from the Dragonforce tour and I’m excited for the different experience. We also just confirmed that we’re touring Europe with Chimaira, Unearth, and Throwdown this fall! I don’t need to explain why this is such an amazing tour but let me tell you, we are fucking STOKED to be a part of it! This also will be our second time through Europe with Unearth and can’t wait to share the road with those model human beings.”
The Concealers was produced and mixed by Jason Suecof and Mark Lewis (Trivium, All That Remains, Devildriver) and features unparalleled musicianship along with the extraordinary vocals of Sean Z.

Chimaira and Unearth Announce European Tour Dates
Cleveland groove metallers CHIMAIRA have just announced a European tour alongside their old friends from Boston, UNEARTH, as well as California's straight-edge outfit THROWDOWN. After a highly successful US tour supporting the likes of KILLSWITCH ENGAGE and DISTURBED, CHIMAIRA is finally going to hit Europe and spread the infection.
Commented CHIMAIRA singer Mark Hunter: “We’re very excited to get back to Europe and headline. We’ll be playing a bunch of new countries we’ve never been to, including Russia. We plan to play a great mixture of old and new songs, and we’re bringing some of the best bands our genre has to offer with us.“
CHIMAIRA recently released their new album, "The Infection," which entered the German album chart on #86 and landed at #28 on the UK's official Indie charts. The album was their second on Nuclear Blast after 2007's critically-acclaimed "Resurrection," and the tour marks their first European visit since a hugely successful headlining run back in March 2008.

“After seeing them with absolutely horrible sound & a short set at Monsters Of Rock, it'll be cool to see them with decent sound & a full set,” enthused one Calgary fan before the show. More...

Unearth Comments On Upcoming Tour with Testament
UNEARTH is currently gearing up for their upcoming tour with Testament, which kicks off on May 2nd in Seattle, WA. The band is touring to support their critically acclaimed album, "The March," which hit streets on October 14, 2008 and debuted at #45 on the Billboard Top 200. The upcoming North American tour also features newcomers and label mates Lazarus A.D., rounding out the bill.
Vocalist Trevor Phipps commented on the tour: "I've been a fan of Testament since I was a kid, so it'll be a great time each night for me. It's always fun to play our set, and it'll be awesome to catch Testament after we play. We're gonna have six weeks of good times. It will also be cool to tour with our label mates, Lazarus A.D. They're on their first record with Metal Blade. I heard their album last night, and it had some great shred parts. This whole tour is going to be a shred fest for sure!"
"Being such big fans of Testament, and to see this new appreciation of heavy thrash music, especially with the kids, is really something special," added drummer Derek Kerswill. "Between Testament, us, and Lazarus A.D., it's a cool family of traveling thrash ridiculousness. We're thankful to be out with a band that we're not only fans of, but that slays as hard as they do. It blows my mind that the guys in Testament are in their 40's, and they're throwing down harder than kids in their 20's. We're out there preaching the metal gospel, so the kids better bring a helmet cuz we'll be knocking down walls everywhere we play!"
The tour is being presented by Revolver Magazine, with tickets and VIP packages available now.

Vocalist Trevor Phipps comments, "This video will be a lot different than any of our other videos. We are looking to mix things up and not just make the same old boring ass videos most everyone else makes. It might rule and it might suck. My money is on ruling."
