Darkest Hour Announces U.S. And European Tours

Washington, DC metalcore pioneers, Darkest Hour, announce a run of West Coast tour dates for December, with a nine-city co-headlining tour alongside Unearth.

Offers Darkest Hour, "2019, we are not done with you yet. Just added some shows on the West Coast with our dudes in Unearth! We have seen all the amazing feedback from you all, and we have listened. Both bands will be playing FULL headlining, rip'n, face melting sets. We have had a ton of fun all over the world with Unearth and we are stoked to slide these dates in before the end of the year. We have some huge things in store for 2020 but if you live in these cities come out and party like its 1999 with us and Unearth!"

A month later, Darkest Hour will kick off 2020 with a return to Europe for a sixteen-city special 25th anniversary tour, where they'll be joined by special guests Fallujah, Bloodlet, Une Misere, and Lowest Creature.

The band comments, "It is with extreme excitement that we announce what we hope to be one of many tour's next year celebrating our 25th anniversary! Over these past twenty-five years we have toured with both new and established bands and have always worked hard to make our tour packages diverse and interesting. This tour is in keeping with that tradition. Fallujah is ripping progressive death metal who have had our attention for a while, can't wait to see these riffs live. Bloodlet is a very special band to us. One of our early influences, it is EASY to say we would not be a band (or at least not the same band) without their influence. We grew up going to their shows and it's a joy to be able to share the stage with them. We got to see Une Misere play this summer and were impressed, insanely heavy, Icelandic mosh of the highest form. Lowest Creature is a killer blend of classic metal elements we all love translated with a new and distinctly Swedish twist. Oh, and you know we will have a few surprises planned for this set special 25th anniversary set. See you in the pit!"

Unearth Posts New Music Video Online

Boston metalcore outfit Unearth has posted a new music video online for the song, "One With The Sun." You can check it out below. The song comes from the band's new album, "Extinction(s)" which will be released through Century Media Records on November 23rd.

"We chose 'One With The Sun' as the first video off Extinction(s) because we feel it's one of the hardest hitting tracks in our entire catalog. Musically it's everything Unearth is about and lyrically it deals with the effects of climate change we are feeling today as well as the bleakness of our future unless we make drastic changes now. Tim Dennesen and the guys at Punchdance, inc did a great job capturing the imagery needed to get the message across. You'll be sure to hear this one at our live shows as it's already become a staple in our set. See you out there," says frontman Trevor Phipps. More...

Texas Revolution Fest Hosts Modern Metal Bill

October 22, 2016-Texas Revolution Festival held in Austin is a festival run by promoters Come And Take It Productions.

I’ve covered a lot of Come And Take It shows for Metalunderground.com, including the spring version of the festival, Texas Independence Fest in 2015. That festival featured such bands as Between The Buried And Me, Vital Remains, White Chapel, COC, Death Angel and Cavalera Conspiracy. Tonight billed such artists as Hatebreed, Devildriver, Soilwork and Crowbar.

The Independence Festival was a three-day outing, while Texas Revolution was only one day. Both festivals were held at the same venue—Empire Control Room & Garage. The Control Room stage was an smaller, inside stage that held many of the lesser-known and local acts. Ringworm headlined that stage. The Garage is an outside stage that housed the headliners.
