UNEARTH is currently gearing up for their upcoming tour with Testament, which kicks off on May 2nd in Seattle, WA. The band is touring to support their critically acclaimed album, "The March," which hit streets on October 14, 2008 and debuted at #45 on the Billboard Top 200. The upcoming North American tour also features newcomers and label mates Lazarus A.D., rounding out the bill.

Vocalist Trevor Phipps commented on the tour: "I've been a fan of Testament since I was a kid, so it'll be a great time each night for me. It's always fun to play our set, and it'll be awesome to catch Testament after we play. We're gonna have six weeks of good times. It will also be cool to tour with our label mates, Lazarus A.D. They're on their first record with Metal Blade. I heard their album last night, and it had some great shred parts. This whole tour is going to be a shred fest for sure!"

"Being such big fans of Testament, and to see this new appreciation of heavy thrash music, especially with the kids, is really something special," added drummer Derek Kerswill. "Between Testament, us, and Lazarus A.D., it's a cool family of traveling thrash ridiculousness. We're thankful to be out with a band that we're not only fans of, but that slays as hard as they do. It blows my mind that the guys in Testament are in their 40's, and they're throwing down harder than kids in their 20's. We're out there preaching the metal gospel, so the kids better bring a helmet cuz we'll be knocking down walls everywhere we play!"

The tour is being presented by Revolver Magazine, with tickets and VIP packages available now.

How far is Raleigh? Does Charlotte have any decent sized clubs in the 1500-2000 capacity range?

Raleigh is 3 hrs away. and charlotte has a few places that can hold big time bands. the bojangles arena (which i live directly) beside will host the music as a weapon tour on the 13th i think.

FOR WHATEVER REASON, TESTAMENT IS TOO SCARED TO COME HERE. WHY GUYS? GET SOME FREAKIN BALLS AND DESTROY THIS SH1TTY BIBLE BELT CITY. WE LOVE METAL HERE TOO!

Ah, that sucks. I know that the MAAW tour is in a much larger venue (arena) here than Testament, who is playing a close to 2000 capacity club. And oftentimes Testament plays even smaller joints.

Sometimes if they don't have the right sized club, they won't stop there. DC was getting passed up by Gigantour and SOTU for a long time due to the lack of a small-arena sized place. It was either massive pavillions or the Verizon center or small and large clubs with nothing in between then this place in Baltimore started doing some of those arena-sized shows.
