Sevendust And More Added To Download
The organizers of Britain's Download Festival has announced several more bands to perform at the event this year. Northern Irish rockers The Answer will be performing at the festival, as will Sevendust, Staind, Stone Gods, Shinedown, Static-X, Bring Me The Horizon, Fightstar, Volbeat, Go:Audio, Facecage and Auger Bane. The festival will be held at Donington Park between June 12th-14th.

Eight More Bands Confirmed For Download 2009
The organizers of Britain's Download Festival has announced a further eight bands for this years lineup. Two of Sweden's most acclaimed metal bands, Opeth and Meshuggah, have been added to the bill as well as Japanese rockers Dir En Grey. The underground British thrash metal jokers Lawnmower Deth have also been confirmed. American rock group Five Finger Death Punch will be appearing at the event as will Velvet Revolver/Ex-Guns N Roses bass player Duff McKagen with his new band Loaded. You Me At Six and Roadrunner Records latest signing, Steadlur.

Twelve more bands have been announced for this year's edition of Britain's Download Festival. New Orleans supergroup Down will be making their second appearance at the festival and they will be joined by Italian gothic metal group Lacuna Coil, legendary rockers Journey and former Soundgarden/Audioslave frontman Chris Cornell. Also added to the bill are Tesla, Papa Roach, Clutch, Black Stone Cherry, Architects, Skin, Parkway Drive and Karma To Burn.

Rock On The Range 2009 Line-Up, Details Revealed
ROCK ON THE RANGE will return to Columbus, Ohio’s Crew Stadium Saturday, May 16 and Sunday, May 17, 2009. The 2009 line-up for the nationally renowned festival centrally located in the heart of the country will be highlighted by performances from some of rock’s biggest artists including Mötley Crüe, Slipknot, Alice In Chains, Avenged Sevenfold and Korn.
“We try to listen to our fans and they've been saying for years that we should play at Rock On The Range,” said Nikki Sixx of Mötley Crüe.
“We're really excited to play one of America's great rock festivals,” SLIPKNOT’s Corey Taylor says, “Being asked to headline Rock on the Range is an absolute pleasure! Columbus, Ohio has always been very good to us. The line-up looks great; the shows look fantastic. And I personally think it will be an absolute blast for everyone. See you in May!”
Presented by Right Arm Entertainment, AEG LIVE and Crew Stadium, the two-day, multi-stage music and lifestyle event will feature a potent line-up of more than 35 bands. This year’s well-rounded mix of rock’s top artists also includes Shinedown, Buckcherry, The Used, Atreyu, Chevelle, Flyleaf, Saving Abel, Saliva, Blue October, Hoobastank, Black Stone Cherry, and many more.
This marks the third outing for the annual event, which drew 30,000 people in its inaugural year in 2007 and more than 55,000 people in 2008. Event features this year include the addition of a third stage, the Jägermeister Music Stage, on-stage fan platforms--for contest winners--and an expanded vendor village.
In 2009, ROCK ON THE RANGE will also increase their “Go Green” initiative via ROTR “Go Green,” an online portal that allows fans to recycle old cell phones and mp3 players for free tickets and ROTR memorabilia and official festival merchandise. Southern rockers Black Stone Cherry has finished shooting a brand new music video for the song, "Please Come In." The song will be the second single from their latest album, "Folklore And Superstition" which is out now via Roadrunner Records. Says the band: "We're very excited about this song being our next single and we've shot a KILLER video for it. Seriously... you won't believe your eyes!"
Black Stone Cherry Prepares For European Tour
Southern rockers Black Stone Cherry has posted the following message online:
"So we're at home right now in beautiful Kentucky. We've been home for a couple weeks and it's been an EXCELLENT stay, but we're all itching to get back out on the road! We leave in 4 days to fly overseas to start our big headlining tour - the Folklore And Superstition tour! We're so excited!
"The tour kicks off in Paris, France on November 18th and will end in Belfast, N. Ireland on December 17th! Black Stone Cherry Forced To Cancel Shows
Southern rockers Black Stone Cherry has posted the following message online:
"Unfortunately, we've been forced to cancel a few upcoming shows from the Rock Is Alive Tour. Jon Lawhon's Grandfather has suffered a heart attack this week and Jon needs to be by his side. The cancelled dates are Tallahassee, FL, Hattiesburg, MS, Beaumont, TX, and San Antonio, TX.

Black Stone Cherry Filming New Video
Black Stone Cherry has announced that they will be filming a new music video on Monday the 13th of October in the New York/New Jersey area. Black Stone Cherry Announce New Album Release Date
Kentucky rockers Black Stone Cherry have set August 19th as the date when they will release their second album "Folklore and Superstition".
Drummer John Fred Young says about the record: “There is a mystique with folklore and superstition. We’re intrigued by and interested in history, roots and heritage, and we incorporate that into the band.”
Adds bassist Jon Lawhon: “We are taking the Southern tradition and spreading it out to the rest of the world. They say, ‘Write what you know,’ so that’s what we’re doing, writing what we know.”

Archer Confirmed For Sweden Rock Festival
Archer has performed with some of the biggest names in rock including, Heaven and Hell, Heart and Sevendust. The band is looking forward to sharing the stage at the Sweden Rock Festival (www.swedenrock.com) this summer alongside such metal giants as Judas Priest, Def Leppard, Whitesnake, Poison, RATT, Triumph, Saxon, Disturbed and many more as they return to Europe.
The Santa Cruz, CA-based power trio, who won "Best Local Band 2008" in the Metro Santa Cruz Goldies Awards, takes the stage on Saturday, June 7th, opening for some of the biggest names in the metal music genre. The Sweden Rock Festival is held in Norjeboke, in the tiny village of Norje which is situated in Sölvesborg in the western part of southern Sweden.
Archer’s debut album "Doom$day Profit$" is a "genuine tour-de-force, rich with powerful songs imbued with that essential combination of brain-burrowing melodies, ripping riffs, pulsing basslines, tsunami drums and grab-by-the-throat vocals." The band cites influences that include Ozzy and Sabbath, Iron Maiden, Metallica and other legendary names.

More Acts Confirmed For Download Festival 2008
A posting on the official Download festival website has confirmed that six more bands have been announced. Legendary former KISS guitarist Ace Frehley is one of the acts confirmed who has been away from the UK for many years. Aussie rockers Airbourne have been added to the bill aswell as have southern rock favourites Black Stone Cherry. Irish Indie band Ash are also announced as have Elliot Minor. Finally, drum and bass act Pendulum are scheduled to perform.
This year's lineup has been the most controversial one yet. Many fans in the UK have been complaining of its choice of headliners and other acts with more British metal festival goers deciding to attend foreign festivals than before. More...
More Sevendust, Saliva Tour Dates Announced
Atlanta's SEVENDUST has announced the details of its spring tour, which will kick off on April 9 in Port St. Lucie, Florida. SALIVA, NEVERSET, and OVERSCENE will be on the tour for the first leg, which runs through May 3 in South Bend, Indiana. BLACK STONE CHERRY will join the trek May 4-17. The remaining dates will be announced on Friday.

SEVENDUST recently pulled out of its participation in this summer's inaugural Rockstar Energy Mayhem Tour, indicating in a statement that it canceled its involvement "due to changes in (the group's) touring schedule." The Rockstar Energy Mayhem Tour, featuring headliners DISTURBED and SLIPKNOT, is scheduled to kick off on July 9 in Seattle and will hit 30 North American cities.
SEVENDUST will release its new album, "Chapter VII: Hope & Sorrow", on April 1. The first single is called "Prodigal Son", while the disc features guest appearances from Chris Daughtry and members of ALTER BRIDGE.

Black Stone Cherry have checked in from the studio with the following update:
"Hello everyone! We're sitting here in the control room of studio A at the beautiful Blackbird Studios in Nashville, TN! We're finished with all the tracks for the album...now we're on to over-dubs, etc..AND..a little physcadelic organ right now! Deep Purple baby! haha!
We've been here a week now and have gotten a lot done with plenty more still to go!
The songs are incredible and you all are gonna love 'em!! We've really been able to expand this time and working with Bob Marlette has been great..he totally understands us a band and individuals!
We should have some in studio photos and video up soon..so keep lookin' for that as well as many more studio updates from us!! We can't wait for you all to hear this album and we are lookin' forward to seeing you all this Spring/Summer on the road again!!
