Rapheumets Well Posts New Video

Hickory, N.C. sci-fi metal band Rapheumets Well will release next full-length album "Enders Door" via Test Your Metal Records on May 26th, once again bringing forth a voyage enriched with lore and a sound that is a complex mix of classical orchestrations, cosmic synths, and extreme metal to portray the epics of parallel worlds.

The synopsis of this album is in the fifth era of the Avomenian Empire, amidst the planetary ruins of Vaath, a rogue traveler would discover an artifact that would forever change his place in the cosmos. Today a new music video for the album's first single and title track comes online - check it out below. Drummer Joshua Nassaru Ward comments:

"The song 'Enders Door' highlights our albums mission to present this odd story in which the traveler, following his brothers distress beacon from what seems to be a downed ship, finds himself in a very uncompromising situation with a inter-dimensional being and the agenda of a lecherous female named Eishar.

"The video is completely self produced and with the help of David 'King' Johnson, we tried to capture elements of our story while presenting the technicality and emotion of our music. In many ways we are trying to convey issues we all deal with through our music such as confusion, anxiety, fear, and revelation in seeking truth. There is symbolism here of course; in our pursuits to find ourselves we must brave trials that permit our weakness to manifest to find tangible truth." More...

Rapheumets Well Announces New Album

Blending a sound that is a complex mix of classical orchestrations, cosmic synths, and extreme metal to portray the epics of parallel worlds, Hickory, N.C. based Rapheumets Well (Ra-few-mets) brings forth a voyage enriched with original lore.

Inspired by the fictitious universe of Sovael, Rapheumets Well is the name coined to a conscious deity who oversees the anastomosis of the multiverse, the master of portals and inter-dimensional travel. Being personified as a trickster, Rapheumet often creates chaos for unsuspecting voyagers. The word “Well” refers to gravity wells, which like black holes, are catalyst of change and gateways between the cosmic plains.

“We created this name in hopes of personifying a living gateway between dimensions. We love science fiction and a few of us have extended education and degrees in science,” says drummer Joshua Ward.

The band’s third release "Enders Door" is now due out on May 26th via Test Your Metal Records. The album takes place in the fifth era of the Avomenian Empire, amidst the planetary ruins of Vaath, where a rogue traveler would discover an artifact that would forever change his place in the cosmos. Rapheumets Well Posts New Music Video

After unleashing new album "The Exile" this past March via Test Your Metal Records, North Carolina-based Rapheumets Well has a new music video to wow fans with a visual world from this sci-fi/ fantasy inspired concept story album.

The video for "Crucible of Titans" (available below) is just once piece of the story line as drummer Joshua Ward explains: "In our song ‘Crucible of Titans’, Darmak is confronted by an Okvier named Sen, an inter-dimensional being who offers help to Darmak as Sotath's plan was illusive even to the celestial counsel. Darmak is asked to spy on the traitor in hopes of revealing his agenda. Things go very wrong. Being ratted out by a family friend, Darmak is forced to look on as his family is executed.

"Darmak is sent to the realm between realms, away from the eyes of celestial order. The demonic servants of Sotath bind a rare artifact to his bones which will forbid him to die. They tear his skin from his bones only to have his organs regenerate and repeat. Having his flesh skin torn multiple times each day and left to ruminate on his families execution, he is cursed to walked the desert of the Nastar (lost realm) until his spirit literally fragments and he ceases to exist.

"This is the crucible of titans and why we chose to do this video. We actually shot and produced our own video due to budget constraints, but we worked extremely hard and we hope everyone enjoys the work and creativity of the story.”

If you previously missed it, all of new album "The Exile" is still online for streaming at this location. More...

Rapheumets Well Streams Full New Album

Rapheumets Well is gearing up to drop sophomore release "The Exile" on March 18th, 2016 via Test Your Metal Records. Today the band offers a full album stream, which can be heard below courtesy of the excellent NefariousRealm.com.

Drummer Joshua Ward comments on the album: "Our album 'The Exile' we felt was a alluring story following our release of 'Dimensions' due to its more personal nature. The story, while taking place on a distant planet follows the journey of Darmak Ildna, a military commander from the Sunak Empire. A malevolent deity of a sorts lands on the planet and enforces his mandate. We wrote this album to reflect this journey.

"From flesh eating gates and alien invasions to time and space being ripped and the protagonist getting his skin peeled from his bones, it needed a amalgamation of brutal riffing with cosmic soundscapes to portray this. We were able to record and master this ourselves so we are very happy with all the work we have done. Thanks to Test Your Metal Records, we have a medium to share our creation."

If you missed it, Rapheumets Well also gave us one hell of an entertaining Pit Story recently - check it out here. More...

Pit Stories: Invasion Of The Him-Hers

Ready for yet another bout of Pit Story madness my fellow metal heads?

This week we've got a truly bizarre one that leaves the pit behind and focuses on band antics at the hotel room after the show, in which U.S. group Rapheumets Well gets some serious culture shock and a crash course in trans pride.

In typical metal fashion, things get taken perhaps a smidge too far. The symphonic extreme metal outfit's drummer Joshua Ward tells the tale like this:

So, members of Rapheumets Well were accompanying the band Behind The Veil to a show in the Ashville area of North Carolina. Now you got to picture that we are all very southern males with little to no exposure to the pride parades that Ashville is known for. It is to note, we are far from prejudice and we accept anyone for their sexual preferences being gay or straight, or what-ever percentage of gay to strait ratio can exist. You can make love to a duck for all we care. But you can say, we we just not ready for the “He-her” or the “Sheman,” Man in girl, whatever you can use to define the characters in our midnight saga.

So we are hanging off the balcony at a hotel and from the distance, our honkey eyes believe we are seeing women, flaunting about, twirling their batons, giggling and frolicking about, and for some reason that we have not discovered in our life’s journey yet…. other people on leashes. I’m sure it was our testosterone and possible lead poisoning from drinking from mountain spring water that lead us to the conclusion that these were women of mating age, doing things that seem appropriate for the other gender to want to mate …upon. Well the guitarist is yelling from the balcony “come on up girls” while one of two of us is considering the entertaining the question “are these she-men on leashes” as reality TV usually instills hints to these questions. But, what the hell. There had to be 20 plus people.

As they began to get closer, some of us who were NOT drinking began to contemplate back to high-school health class, “hmm, adams apple also known as the thyroid cartilage = the male gender” but the majority of us must have failed that class. From the pits of the stair well behold, in front us stood a 6 foot three, broad jawed, two hundred and fifty pound bench-pressing loaf of a man. Though in our defense, he was wearing a mini skirt over some leggings, a blond wig, and was accompanied by a man wielding a leash who also wore clothing which possessed ornaments known as “Bedazzled” and glitter.

If I had more time, I would explain to you how we used this awkward scenario to our benefit. Friends, who passed out first, became celebrities or victims to our cameras. We engaged in conversation which would reveal the craziest sexual things we have ever heard. I did not even know you can fit a lava lamp in some of the bodies cavities as expressed by the Him-Her. It was southern cultural anthropology at its finest. Unfortunately, some of them were chased off with chairs due to a un-diagnosed case of transphobia. But it was none the less, educational, AND KNOWLEDGE IS POWER!! …I guess.

Rapheumets Well's upcoming album "The Exile" is due out March 18th, 2016 through Test Your Metal Records. Check out a lyric video below for "Resurrecting The Blood God," and you can also hear new track "Witch Of Dark Spire" at this location. More...

Rapheumets Well Streams New Track

Hickory, N.C. band Rapheumets Well is now streaming third single "Witch Of Dark Spire" online, which can be heard below. The track comes from sophomore release "The Exile," due out March 18th, 2016 through Test Your Metal Records.

Drummer Joshua Ward comments on the single: "This song is the first great 'shift' in the downfalls of the main character in the story. After being tortured and then remade to fulfill his vengeful mission, he see's in the distance the dark spire. It was Daasha (the witch), his wife's trusted friend and counselor to the court that betrayed them.

"She exposed Darmak and his family was executed because of it. You can imagine the burning sensation in your gut to have another shot at the person who has done you so wrong. Each riff outlines the emotions and actions that take place in the characters ascent through the dark spire. This song is like the first 'boss fight' for us."

The new album's track listing is as follows:

1. Resurrecting The Blood Gate (4:44)
2. The Blight of Sotath Shal (3:53)
3. The Epic of Darmak (4:59)
4. Crucible of Titans (4:14)
5. Resurgence (6:07)
6. Witch of Dark Spire (5:17)
7. The Exile (6:13)
8. Planetary Cenotaph (5:05) [streaming here] More...

Rapheumets Well Streaming New Single

Blending a sound that is a complex mix of classical orchestrations, cosmic synths, and extreme metal to portray the epics of parallel worlds, Hickory, N.C. based Rapheumets Well (Ra-few-mets will release "The Exile" on March 18th, 2016 via Test Your Metal Records.

Check out second single "Planetary Cenotaph" in the player below. Drummer Joshua Ward comments on the newly released track:

"'Planetary Cenotaph,' being the last song on the album, was a bit 'challenging' for us in terms of composition as we write the music to the story. The main character just destroyed an entire planet. Due to his immortal 'curse' he is floating in the stellar remnants of his home-world.

"While his body is reforming and he is adrift he has a lot of time to think. His wife wife and kids were murdered, his empire betrayed him, he was tortured, he has seen some very wild stuff. He is processing the events in a very numb and displaced way.

"The emotions of the song actually came from the deaths of family members of the band recently. In the last two years we lost four parents and a grandparent, all within months of each other. So, this became a memorial song to them while keeping to the context of the story. What better way for us to honor someone than to write a metal song!" More...
