Heavy Temple Posts New Single Online

Heavy Temple has dropped a respectfully tasty nod towards doom giants Candlemass with their catchy new single "House Of Warship," which is taken from the psychedelic fast-risers' forthcoming sophomore full-length. "Garden of Heathens" is slated for release on April 12.

"The Candlemass influence is pretty up front on this track, but we were also thinking Flower Traveling Band meets 'Animal Magnetism'-era Scorpions", singer and bass player High Priestess Nighthawk reveals. "The lyrics of 'House of Warship' deal with being lied to or being manipulated, while pouring oneself into something or someone – and the self-loathing that comes with the realization of falling for that intentional deception." Heavy Temple Announces US Tour Dates

Pennsylvania's psychedelic doomsters Heavy Temple have announced the first 2021 US tour dates in support of their acclaimed debut album "Lupi Amoris". Please see below for a complete list of shows.

Heavy Temple comment: "We were fortunate enough to be able to put out an album during a time of much uncertainty, especially regarding live shows, so needless to say we're excited to get back in the van", writes frontwoman High Priestess Nighthawk. "Music, especially for us metalheads, is such a huge part of our lives. The last year and a half has been rough, to say the least, without any shows. We've been practicing the songs from 'Lupi Amoris' this whole time, and we're ready for people to hear them the way we always intended, live and in person, even if we all have to take a few extra precautions to keep ourselves and our fans safe when we get there."

"Lupi Amoris" was released on Friday June 18, 2021. The album can be streamed below, where you can also find a recent interview vocalist High Priestess Nighthawk conducted by Metal Underground. More...

Heavy Temple Releasing New Album

Philadelphia trio Heavy Temple is pleased to announce the band will release new album "Chassit" on November 18th, 2016. The four-song release is a sonic continuation of previous self-titled debut, though the mood has become more scalding than mystical.

The announcement comes ahead of an appearance at The Obelisk All-Dayer at Saint Vitus Bar in Brooklyn this Saturday, August 20th. The newly revamped Tridroid Records will issue "Chassit" on cassette in November, just in time for a performance at Doomed and Stoned Fest.

Label owner Christine Kelly commented about the signing: "Tridroid Records is proud to bring 'Chassit' into the physical realm. I was floored by their first EP and drove to Philly to see them play live 2 years ago. The performance was so enthralling that I've gone on to see them 3 more times, each performance better than the last. They're a Heavy Temple in the truest sense, massive both sonically and psychically." More...

Shadows Woods Metal Fest Lineup Revealed

The concept of the open air heavy metal music and camping fest, so popular in Europe, seems to be a rarity in America. The organizers of the Shadow Woods Metal Fest hope to change that with the inaugural edition of the festival happening September 25th - 27th, 2015 in Fannettsburg, Pennsylvania in the heart of the Appalachian Mountains.

Shadow Woods Metal Fest features lead performances from Midnight, Falls of Rauros, Occultation, Menace Ruine, Velnias, Iron Man, Anagnorisis, The Flight of Sleipnir and Stone Breath along with twenty-seven additional acts throughout the event.

The fest showcases underground black, doom, death, and noise and experimental metal bands on two alternating stages all day Friday and Saturday. Camping and workshops on topics such as runes, guitar maintenance, yoga and more will be offered and are included in the ticket price. Artists and record labels will be vending alongside several onsite food stands. The festival is BYOB and age restricted to 21+.

To keep the fest intimate, only 350 tickets will be sold, and the fest is already 1/3 sold out. Tickets are $92 (plus a 99 cent processing fee). A limited number of group cabins will also be available. The lineup is as follows: More...
