Mystic Festival (PL) Adds 16 New Bands To Line-Up
Insomnium, Terrorizer, Textures, Vltimas, Villagers of Ioannina City, Gutalax, Skálmöld, Gaupa, Evil Invaders, Party Cannon, Dödsrit, Witching, Dvne, Massive Wagons, Ditz and ten56. have announced their visit to Gdansk. You’ve got 16 more reasons to come to Mystic Festival in June of 2024.
How do you like your death metal? Melancholic and melodic as offered by Finland's Insomnium, or brutal and relentless - the cult Terrorizer returns to the stage, with David Vincent and Pete Sandoval in the lineup! Significantly, one of the most important voices of death metal will be heard at two shows in Gdansk - David will also headline Vltimas, the supergroup he formed with Blasphemer (ex-Mayhem) and Flo Mounier (Cryptopsy).
"Sex, Drugs and Fecal Gore" - the title of this song captures well the sound and character of the Gutalax performances, so here come the Czech heroes of shitty grind. The Brits from Party Cannon, with their crushing slam death metal, also know how to get the party going. The opposite pole of musical experiences will be handled by the Greeks from Villagers of Ioannina City, known for their progressive approach to stoner rock, and the Swedes from Gaupa, playing psychedelic hard rock.
Textures, masters of heavy weight prog-metal, will have a lot to offer to those who value technique and excellent sound, as well as Evil Invaders, moving freely in the territory between thrash and heavy metal. Dvne is also progressive metal in a sense but heavily influenced by post-metal monumentalism.
Skálmöld will bring Viking battle songs from Iceland, Dödsrit will batter their audience with d-beat-driven black metal, and the wounded will be slaughtered by Americans from Witching, who balance black metal aggression with doom solemnity. Massive Wagons invite you to a shameless, loud rock'n'roll party, Ditz also play rock, but with a lot of ambition and a solid dash of hardcore. Closing out today's stakes are ten56., who will come from Paris to unleash mayhem with their mixture of deathcore and nu-metal.
Mystic Festival will take place in Gdansk, Poland at the Gdansk Shipyard on June 5th through 8th, 2024.
Tickets are available now on the Mystic Festival homepage here More...

Evil Invaders on "Die For Me":

Now tell me what you're gonna do..." More...

Evil Invaders To Release Live Album
Evil Invaders may sound notoriously tech-loving yet astoundingly raw on record – but if you unleash these Belgians onstage, their trademark sound nestled in between death, thrash, progressive touches and trad heavy metal gains another heady and exciting dimension that is second to none. After two studio albums and two EPs released to date, the time has finally come to immortalize the incredible high-octane live phenomenon in sound and vision: "Surge of Insanity - Live in Antwerp 2018" is the expected balls-out hometown insanity, taped at the Trix Zaal in 2018, and set for release on October 4th 2019 with powerhouse label Napalm Records!
"On October 4th we will finally release our live album + DVD, 'Surge Of Insanity: Live in Antwerp 2018'! From day one, our goal has always been to distinguish ourselves musically as well as visually in our live performances." frontman Joe comments.
"We're always striving to create new and unique visual aspects to our show. It was massive to play with a full production at the venue where we all used to go to see our favorite bands since we were teenagers. This live album + DVD marks the end of an old and the beginning of a new era for Evil Invaders. We're just getting started..."
In addition we're releasing another slice of what's coming; one of our favorite tracks ’Broken Dreams In Isolation‘ with a live video, taken from the DVD. More...

Graspop Metal Meeting 2017: Day One
The Graspop Metal Meeting festival in Belgium has become one of the biggest and most popular events on the European summer circuit. Seemingly every year they put together a fantastic line up, mixing the classics, the young blood and cult favourites to really give something for all head bangers. This year was no different, with such legends as Scorpions, Deep Purple and Blue Oyster Cult all booked, as well as plenty for the kids like Chelsea Smile and Architects. It all promised to be a hell of a weekend and indeed it was.
Though the festival doesn't begin it's "official" schedule until Friday, weekend campers arrive the day before and are met with plenty on offer, including a number of live bands and the Metal Cafe. Being too tired after travelling from England to Belgium, we were only able to catch one full performance, though we also caught the last ten minutes of Belgian stoner metal act, King Hiss, who would probably please fans of Mastodon but left little impact. This was followed by the very short journey to the Jupiler Stage, which housed most of the weekend's hardcore and deathcore groups to watch Dutch hardcore veterans, Born From Pain. The quintet are regarded as one of Europe's best hardcore groups and it's easy to see why, particularly in the live setting where their brand of positive energy spreads to the audience very quickly, making for a very enjoyable live set. If you weren't excited already, the band has another special treat! Today, the first single/video for "Mental Penitentiary" premiered courtesy of Invisible Oranges at this location, or you can enjoy it in the player below.
Joe commented on the first track: "One of the faster songs on the record and definitely one of the coolest tracks we've written so far! Pretty intense lyrics, which are definitely worth checking out! The mid tempo part in the middle gives a nice contrast with the fast shit that's happening before and after. Making this video was compulsive endless lunacy! Fortunately only the camera guy got injured..."

Evil Invaders Details New Album "Feed Me Violence"
Let down your hair and rip off your shirt! Evil Invaders is back!
After touring extensively all over Europe in support of the highly acclaimed debut album "Pulses Of Pleasure" (2015) and the intense follow-up EP "In For The Kill" (2016), these Belgians have managed to capture the ultimate collection of fucked up adrenaline and compressed violence onto one record! The second monstrosity of an album is called "Feed Me Violence" and today the band issued the release date, track listing and album artwork.
Joe & Max state: "We went through hell for this record but I think we really nailed it on this one. We spat out all our frustrations into this album which will be quite noticeable when you listen to it. This is quite angry shit and out of control. 'Feed Me Violence' will be a whole new chapter for Evil Invaders as it unveils new and quite unexpected sides of our music. Going from fast brain-bashing riffs to slow and clean, almost theatrical compositions. This album will take you on a dark trip through pain, vengeance and insanity!"

Evil Invaders Arrested, Deported From U.S.
The list of musicians denied entry to the U.S. or booted out after arriving continues to grow... Following Loudness, and Infernal Tenebra, and Wormrot, and a host of SXSW bands, now Evil Invaders has run afoul of U.S. customs.
This time around, half the band made it through customs and was on the way to a festival, while the other half was arrested. Eventually the whole band got to spend a day in jail before being sent back to Europe. Evil Invaders comments:
As some of you might know we were scheduled for our very first USA festival ever in Milwaukee on April 22nd. The deal was simple: the festival purchases our flights and covers all our costs to make the show happen, but no money for our own pockets. We were definitely up for that and we were stoked to head for the US of A to tear down the house for our 1st ever US live performance. Did we manage to enter the country? Yes, Sir! Did we kick ass and leave the country to ashes after our devastating show? Well, not exactly… Here’s how it goes :)
On April 20th we took our flight from Brussels to Chicago. The flight was OK as we already flew multiple times to Japan or South America. We were all good! When we arrived at Chicago airport everything went smooth and we were ready to kick ass. We took our bags, stood in line at customs and went out of the airport as always. Standard procedure, no big deal. Except for… Joeri and Max.More...

So get ready to get your guts blown out and raise some fuckin' hell!"
