"So the band has pretty much just faded away at this point. Anyway! We are very thankful for all the support we had through the years! Cheers!"

Spawn Of Possession Discusses Upcoming Album

Spawn of Possession vocalist Dennis Röndum recently conducted an interview with Metalbay.net to discuss the band's upcoming album, which will be the follow-up to "Noctambulant." An excerpt from the interview follows:

MB: What can fans expect to hear in the new album? What differences/similarities can we expect?

Dennis: I think this new album is quite an extension of the creativity that Spawn of Possession encompasses. In comparison to the previous releases it feels much broader and epic this time around. We’ve tampered a bit with structures and things like that just to mix it up and to bring more nuances into the music. The good old Spawn grooves are definitely still there but with a new set of twists and turns. Another major factor is that there have been some serious line-up changes since Noctambulant. Compared to the old setting we have three new guys in the band that consists of Erlend Caspersen on bass, Henrik “Morris” Schönström on drums and Christian Muenzner on guitar. The only originals are I and Bryss and I’ve stepped down from the drums to focus solely on the vocals. We’re right in the middle of recording this album so it’s kind of hard to describe it since it’s still unfolding in the studio. All I can say for sure is that this album will lift some eye brows and make some jaws drop when it hits the streets.

MB: Will the music still fall on the technical side?

Dennis: Well first of all I have to say that we’ve never put the technical aspect in front of the music. In other words we would never make a song or a riff abnormally technical just for the sake of it. We’re all about writing good solid music and the whole tech thing is just a part of our style since we don’t really hold back any tools. But to answer your question this album will generally be just as tech as anything we’ve done in the past, probably even a bit more here and there.
