Tesla Guitarist Frank Hannon Fractures Elbow

Frank Hannon, guitarist of the hard rock band Tesla, has revealed that he recently suffered an arm injury in Los Angeles. A message from Hannon reads as follows:

"Hey everyone, thanks for the 'feel better' vibes!! Actually, I did fall down in Atlanta and fractured the radial bone in my elbow. Luckily I have been able to do play guitar and do the Tesla shows with some pain. But the reason I was going to reschedule the Los Angeles FHB show was because the doctor told me not to lift any equipment and put extra pressure on my arm for 6-8 weeks.

"Well, there's a good possibility that the Whisky A Go Go may provide FHB with backline of Marshall amps and drums so I won't have to lift and haul my gear, and be able to play the show!! So please stay tuned there is a chance we will play that show Thursday, March 26th in Hollywood."

Tesla Releases Details Of New DVD

After 25 years, 12 albums, over 2,500 shows, over 16 million albums sold worldwide, TESLA is stronger than ever. Continuing on that momentum, TESLA: Jeff Keith (vocals), Frank Hannon (guitars), Brian Wheat (bass), Troy Luccketta (drums) and Dave Rude (guitar) release in Europe their new Live DVD, "Comin' Atcha Live! 2008", on Frontiers Records on December 5th 2008.

"This DVD marks a new era creatively for Tesla because we put it all together ourselves, capturing the band's concert and life on the road," says lead guitarist Frank Hannon. "Nowadays, we are more involved in every aspect of our music career than ever before. We are very excited about the creative results and it really shows in the new DVD".

It's Tesla's first long video released in 17 years (since 1991's Five Man Video Band) and is filled with over two hours of live music, over an hour of special behind-the-scenes footage and never-before-seen material, including footage of Tesla interacting with fans, giving viewers a personal tour of Seattle, and an up-close look at their touring equipment and guitars.

"Comin' Atcha Live! 2008" also includes "Dear Pvt. Ledbetter," a song off the new album "Forever More" written in honor of the troops.

The DVD was filmed at the Myth Nightclub in Maplewood, Minnesota on February 22, 2008. At the sold-out show, TESLA treated fans to numerous classics such as "What You Give," "Signs," "Modern Day Cowboy," "Love Song" and "Little Suzi."

TESLA has been non-stop touring all around the world the past 12 months in support of their two-disc critically acclaimed "Real To Reel" covers album. After taking their current hiatus from the road to record the new album of all original material, they're getting right back out on the concert trail. Expect to see the band again in Europe in early 2009 !

Tesla Announces New Album Release Date

Legendary rockers Tesla has set October 7th as the release date for their brand new studio album, "Forever More", which will be released via their own record label, Tesla Electric Company Recordings. The band will be airing the albums first single, "I Wanna Live" on radio stations across the globe on August 18th and will be kicking off a world tour on October 1st.

Guitarist Frank Hannon says of the writing process: “We started writing new songs for this album the first week of January, while simultaneously planning a mid-West tour of America in February and recording our Comin Atcha Live! 2008 DVD while we were on the road. Coming home in March, we hired Terry to jump back into writing and recording music with us while we edited the DVD and routed a summer tour of Europe. We’re riding a wave of energy that doesn’t come easy for a band of rookies much less a band whose been doing this for over 20 years - and we wouldn’t have it any other way.”

“After returning from Europe,” continues Frank, “we jumped right back into the studio to work on Forever More with Terry while setting up a tour of American festival shows in July and August, playing alongside bands such as Matchbox Twenty, the Wallflowers, Queensrÿche, KISS and Judas Priest. It’s great that we can play with any band, of any music genre, because we’ve never been pigeon-holed into a style or label of music throughout our career.”

The Bitches are Back

Known for her arsenal of BC Rich guitars - affectionately called "bitches" by those who play them - and her talent for ripping things up as good as the next guy, Lita Ford shredded things up last night at Rocklahoma in Pryor, OK, a four day rock and metal fest featuring bands from the '80s like Queensrÿche, Warrant and Tesla.

Joining her on stage were Stet Howland (W.A.S.P.) on drums, Teddy Cook (Dio) on Bass, Michael T. Ross (Bent Pussycat) on keyboards, and Tom Cavanagh (Angel) on guitar.

According to Rocklahoma's official website this is Lita's first show in 15 years, not counting the warm-up gigs she did around New York earlier this month under the guise of a Lita Ford tribute act called Kiss Me Deadly.

After gaining notoriety for her guitar skills with The Runaways, Lita left the all-female rock group to forge a solo career in 1979, scoring huge hits with tunes like "Gotta Let It Go," "Kiss Me Deadly," and "Close My Eyes Forever," a duet with Ozzy Osbourne.

At the height of her career, Lita toured with some of the biggest acts in rock and metal, heavy hitters like Black Sabbath, Anthrax, Iron Maiden and Judas Priest, proving that girls could play guitar and helping introduce a once male-dominated genre to legions of head-banging chicks across the globe.

The Queen of Metal recently signed on with Coallier Entertainment , a New York-based label that also houses Foreigner and Twisted Sister on their roster. Does this mean we can expect a new album from the metal glamazon? This mother of two is keeping mum, but rumours of a press conference on Monday should reveal if her hiatus is finally over.

“This DVD marks a new era creatively for TESLA because we put it all together ourselves, capturing the band’s concert and life on the road,” says lead guitarist Frank Hannon. “Nowadays, we are more involved in every aspect of our music career than ever before. We are very excited about the creative results and it really shows in the new DVD.”

"COMIN’ ATCHA LIVE! 2008" also marks the world premiere of “Dear Pvt. Ledbetter,” a new song written in honor of the troops from the band’s forthcoming album, which is currently being recorded at bassist Brian Wheat’s studio, J Street Recorders with producer Terry Thomas (who was behind the boards on the band’s 1994 "BUST A NUT" album) and will be released this September. More details will be announced in the coming weeks.

The DVD was filmed at the Myth Nightclub in Maplewood, Minnesota on February 22. At the sold-out show, TESLA treated fans to numerous classics such as “What You Give,” “Signs,” “Modern Day Cowboy,” “Love Song” and “Little Suzi.”

After the European dates conclude on June 27, they’ll start a U.S. trek on July 12, lasting throughout the summer and well into the fall.
