This will be Maiden's only UK show this year.
Lead singer Sharon den Adel of Within Temptation adds: "Everyone in the band is a big Iron Maiden fan and the previous times we played with them have been an amazing experience. We are very honoured to play with Maiden in such an amazing stadium! It'll definitely be a night to remember!"
With USA's mighty AVENGED SEVENFOLD also appearing as "Special Guests" on the bill the Twickenham show is already proving to be the highlight of British rock fans' 2008 calendars.

National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences members have nominated SLAYER for the band's third Grammy Award. The SLAYER track, "The Final Six", from the group's 2007 limited-edition "Christ Illusion", was nominated in the category of "Best Metal Performance."
"The Final Six", written by Tom Araya and guitarist Jeff Hanneman and produced by Josh Abraham, is a chilling look at an hypothesized end of the world. The song made its debut last July as the "Single of the Week" on MySpace where it has since accumulated some 750,000 plays, an astounding number for a song that received no commercial airplay.
"When I first got the word, I thought someone was playing a joke," mused Araya. "But obviously, we've made an impression on the industry. The people at the upper levels have taken notice of what we've done, and that's awesome."
SLAYER's two previous Grammy nominations were for 2002's "Disciple" from the album "God Hates Us All", and last year's "Eyes of the Insane", for which they took home the Grammy Award.

With the confidence this gave her she put a band together and over the last couple of years she has been touring extensively with Maiden and with other bands including WITHIN TEMPTATION and THUNDER, working on material and then recording between tours. Iron Maiden Move Argentina Show
IRON MAIDEN fan site MaidenFans.com has issued the following report, courtesy of Metal y Carnaval:
"Due to the overwhelming response from fans, the promoters of the Buenos Aires concert decided to move the show to the River Plate Stadium. The original idea was to move it to the Velez Stadium, but since it is located close to the St. Cayetano Church and March 7th is the Saint's day, they decided against it." More...

South American Promoter Apologizes To Maiden Fans
This apology from IRON MAIDEN's South American promoter Phil Rodriguez (of Evenpro/WBI) has been posted the band's official website:
"As IRON MAIDEN's Brazil promoters we are stumped by a new puzzle... How do you fit the IRON MAIDEN army of Brazilian fans into the venues here?
"We know you can't fit a square in a circle but we have never seen such demand and now understand what an impossible task it is to fit ALL the MAIDEN fans into the venues in Brazil for MAIDEN's 2008 Tour. At record setting speeds, after going on sale earlier this month, the dates in Sao Paolo - 42,000, Curitiba - 20,000 and Porto Alegre - 13,000 sold out already... over two months in advance of the concerts. And no-one has ever even sold out Curitiba in advance before... no-one!
"We apologize to the Brazilian fans for not being able to figure out the riddle sooner. We now know the answer... MORE DATES ...or build bigger stadiums for IRON MAIDEN concerts!
"It is now clear to us that IRON MAIDEN must return in 2009 to be able to accommodate all those fans that sadly will be left out of these concerts... because it will take too long to build bigger stadiums!!!!!
"And all this is following a protest yesterday by MAIDEN's Venezuelan battalion of fans outside our offices in Caracas demanding to know why we weren't organizing a concert there!! We did try but couldn't fit it in the band's schedule! '09 too we hope! And with MAIDEN's first visit to Bogota already near to the 40,000 sell out with Chile and Argentina following strongly, it appears very obvious that South America loves IRON MAIDEN with a vengeance. So as MAIDEN's promoters we promise fans there that we will make every effort to attempt to satisfy more of the incredible demand next time."
Here is the band's complete upcoming itinerary on the "Somewhere Back In Time" World Tour: More...
Iron Maiden Sell 15,000 Tickets In Trondheim
According to the organizers of the Trondheim Rock Festival, 15,000 tickets have been sold so far for IRON MAIDEN's July 22, 2008 concert in Trondheim, Norway, with around 9,000 tickets remaining.
As previously reported, due to "overwhelming demand," IRON MAIDEN's February 24, 2008 concert in Mexico City has been moved from the 22,000-capacity Sports Arena to the much-larger Foro Sol Stadium. This is a multi-facility venue, being the home of the Mexico City Devils (baseball) and also the site of very important car-race events like NASCAR and Champ Car.
On February 5, 2008 MAIDEN will release the highly anticipated DVD of "Live after Death" and to tie in with this will play songs mainly from their classic '80s albums on this forthcoming tour. The stage production will also feature a production-based on the Egyptian-themed "Powerslave Tour" which was featured on the original 1985 video release of "Live after Death".
