It's not Florida's progressive Cynic, it's an English heavy metal band of the same name. And for some reason, Wacken promoters and news stories regarding the addition of the band are being quite sly in not specifying what band it really is. Really, it's sort of crappy because you know people are going to show up to Wacken wondering where the real Cynic is.

^^Really? Man, that sucks. I'm sure that'll disappoint a lot of fans. Haven't heard anything from this cynic but i hope that their worthy of the name.

Does Mike from Opeth respect even one of these bands? Seems to me he has sacrificed alot in favor of gettin the CD "out there" for fans to buy. Hell, I would have much rather had Opeth sign to Inside-Out and resort to ordering the new album from the net than seeing this epic prog-rock band be grouped together with so many generic metalcore clones. :(

Just my opinion, though, not wanting to start a flame war, here.

. . . That is, if the inclusion of Opeth in this was because of their new record deal. If Opeth actually elected to join this, then maybe it will be better than I originally thought.

Maiden is a big influence on them, so maybe they willingly chose to do this . . .

Whee.. no In Flames!! The other bands are great, Children Of Bodom, Kamelot, Sonata Arctica, NIghtwish, Opeth, Autumn, As I Lay Dying, Avantasia, etcc.. Great! The bad thing is, I don't have enough money and no one to go with :( Well, actually, the last part isn't a problem :P And I would have loved to see Lacuna Coil, and Arch Enemy. Still, it's a great list!
