The Resistance Posts New Music Video
The Resistance, the new metal act featuring ex-In Flames guitarists Jesper Strömblad and Glenn Ljungström along with ex-The Haunted vocalist Marco Aro, posted up a new music video for the track "Clearing the Slate." The song appears on the band's upcoming full length debut LP "Scars," which is scheduled for release on May 10th (EU) via earMusic and May 14th (North America) via Armoury Records.

The Resistance Cancels Tour
Sweden's The Resistance has posted the following message online about canceling the band's upcoming tour dates:
"VERY SAD NEWS! We are very sad that we have to announce that the tour is cancelled. It's due to logistic reasons. We hope to see you out there soon.
"But we have the release of 'Scars' to look forward to on the 10th of May, folks! Stay true and support the cause!"

The Resistance Unveils New "Scars" Album
Swedish metal collective The Resistance will unleash a full-length debut on May 14th in North America. The track listing is available below, and the following press release was issued about the album:
"Fittingly titled 'Scars,' the ravaging 12-track follow-up to the last year’s Rise From Treason teaser EP (reviewed here) is an old-school death metal flashback that brings listeners to a time when bands like Entombed, Grave and Dismember proved how insanely brutal yet immensely captivating and technically adept extreme music can be.
"With a lineup as heavy as their musical adventure, The Resistance features within its ranks some of Scandinavia’s most esteemed musicians with In Flames’ founder (and main songwriter until his departure in 2010) Jesper Strömblad on guitar alongside second guitarist Glenn Ljungström (ex-In Flames), vocalist Marco Aro (ex-The Haunted, Facedown) and drummer Chris Barkensjö (ex-Kaamos, ex-Repugnant)."
“If you listen to Entombed's Left Hand Path today, it still blows everything away. And it's over 20 years old,” says Strömblad, the main musical force behind Stockholm/Gothenburg based squad. As for the outcome of "Scars," Strömblad sums it up simply: “It’s just awesome death metal!”

The Resistance Unveils EP Artwork
Recent Armoury Records signees The Resistance have officially unveiled the cover of their "Rise From Treason" EP, set for North American release on January 29th, 2013.
Featuring within its ranks some of Sweden’s most esteemed musicians, The Resistance includes In Flames’ founder Jesper Strömblad on guitar alongside second guitarist Glenn Ljungström (ex-In Flames), vocalist Marco Aro (ex-The Haunted, Facedown) and drummer Chris Barkensjö (ex-Kaamos, ex-Repugnant). The band recently released a lyric video for the track "Slugger."
"This is gonna be some good violent fun!" says Strömblad. "Rise From Treason" will be released as a digital download and limited edition 7" vinyl.
The Resistance Signs With Armoury Records
Eagle Rock imprint Armoury Records, in conjunction with Hamburg, Germany-based earMUSIC, are pleased to announce the official signing of Swedish metal troupe The Resistance.
The Resistance includes In Flames founder (and main songwriter until his departure in 2010) Jesper Strömblad on guitar alongside second guitarist Glenn Ljungström (ex-In Flames, ex-Dimension Zero), vocalist Marco Aro (ex-The Haunted, Facedown), and drummer Chris Barkensjö (Carnal Forge, ex-Kaamos, ex-Repugnant etc.).
The Resistance will make its musical debut in the form of the four-track "Rise From Treason" EP, set for North American release on January 29th, 2013 with a full-length to follow later in the year. The new supergroup consisting of former members of The Haunted and In Flames have released a new track titled, "An Eye for an Eye." The new track can be found on Youtube here:
No label has been announced yet for the band's upcoming record although it is known that they will be playing their first show on the Close-Up BÅten Cruise on September 9th.
