Hamerex To Release New Album

Hamerex is excited to announce the brand new album "IX," which will be released on Monday the 7th of October through the bands own label IX Music. The follow-up to "Rites Of Passage" features 10 brand new tracks the band has already been playing live over the last year.

"We are extremely proud of what we have acheived with the new album." comments guitarist Steve Blower. "There was a great feeling going in to the studio. We'd learnt a lot from 'Rites Of Passage' and we believe we've improved on every aspect of recording and had room to experiment a lot more."

Hamerex returned to Planet Platforms to record the new album with bassist Andy Firth taking on engineering and mixing duties while working closely with the rest of the band. The track listing is:

Hamerex To Stream 100th Show

Hamerex is preparing to play the band's 100th show on Saturday December 15th, which will be streamed live online. The group comments:

"The all day show named Apocalypse 2012 will start shortly after 3PM and is free entry on the door featuring 7 bands. Hamerex will headline the all day gig playing tracks from the current Rites Of Passage album with a mixture of older songs and new material. Also playing is Back To The Sea as main support, The Occupier, Rok Ink, Shadows Of Violence, Deformation Of Man and InSpades.INC. The entire day will also be streamed live on the Internet at this location or the Hamerex website."

Hamerex is currently finishing up the "Rites Of Passage" promotional tour, which started in September 2011 and saw the band play its first outdoor festival at this year's Clarence Park Music Festival. Hamerex Announces Lineup Change

U.K. act Hamerex has issued the following announcement about parting ways with guitarist Joe Wilson:

"Unfortunately, Joe has decided to leave the band. The decision he made to leave wasn't easy and was made due to his work and things in his personal life.

"We will continue as a 4 piece for the remaining gigs throughout the year. From all of us in the band we wish Joe all the best for the future and we still may see him join us on stage for the odd show."

Hamerex Comments On Album Delays

Hamerex has posted the following message online regarding delays in the release of the "Rites of Passage" album:

"Once again one FINAL delay of the album but only by a week (Got to keep you lot on your toes). The last delay is a result of a slight problem during printing which a slight change had to be approved.

"The album will be released on Monday 27th February 2012. Casket has started pre-orders on their store of the album at £6.99 as well as the album being on Amazon.co.uk to pre-order.

"We will be receiving copies during the week to make them available at gigs and through our own store and eventually the website. Thank you all for being patient with us but it's almost finally over." More...

Hamerex Pushes Back Album Release

Hamerex has checked in with the following announcement about delaying the release of the "Rites of Passage" album:

"Unfortunately the album is delayed yet again this time through a decision of Casket Music and now Rites Of Passage will be released on Monday 20th February. We do apologize again for the delay of the album it's beyond our control. In other news the band are getting back to rehearsals at the end of the month and the brand news website will also be coming towards the end of the month or early February."

Hamerex Reveals New Album Details

Hamerex has announced that the band's debut album "Rites Of Passage" will be released on Monday, the 26th September, 2011. The album features 10 tracks that have been written at various times through the band's seven year history. The album artwork was sculptured and illustrated by James Mullett who also did the previous two EP covers for the band.

Hamerex started recording drums and guitars for the album back in August 2010 at Planet Platforms, and from February 2011 the rest was completed at Dee Dee Music including mixing and mastering, which was handled by guitarist Joe Wilson and bassist Andy Firth. The track listing is as follows:

3. Stalker
4. Hypnotise
5. The Lycan
6. Rites Of Passage
7. Army Of Darkness
8. To The End
9. The Gates Of Hades

Hamerex Recording Debut Full-Length Album

Wakefield, West Yorkshire based metal act Hamerex is currently in the process of recording the band's debut full-length album "Rites of Passage." The new album, and follow-up to "The Lycan" EP, is currently due to be released later this year.
