Fatality Reveals New Album

Canada's Fatality has announced the band's new album will be titled "Psychonaut." The album is set for release on June 28th, 2013.

To fund the new album, upcoming tour, and music video the band is looking to raise $10,000 by June 4th through a crowd funding campaign on Indiegogo.com here. Successfully raising over $3,000 in just one week, fans continue to support the campaign and album through this new initiative. The following press release was also issued about the band:

"Smarter, stronger and musically tighter than ever, Fatality are now ready to unleash their sophomore album on their adoring public. Entitled Psychonaut, their new record is at once a darker and more mature effort, with more complex arrangements and sophisticated concepts, that still retains their trademark energy and commitment to drunken mayhem.

"Tracks like 'Thoughts Collide' and 'Before The Collapse' delve deep into the sodden minds of their creators, bubbling with the strange alchemy of pop culture. Set to be released June 28th, 2013 Psychonaut is an exploration of the inner landscape of the mind, where addled thoughts and horror-polluted dreams are held up to musical scrutiny. Monstrous, ambitious, and sardonically funny as ever, Fatality are taking their unique sound and boundless energy to the next level." More...

Pit Stories: The Tighty-Whitey Mosh

It's Tuesday again, which means we've got a new metal show story taken from the underground musicians themselves who keep the scene running. This week guitarist/vocalist Spencer Le Von from Canadian thrash act Fatality shares the following tale of the band's first show going horribly wrong:

My pit story was actually from Fatality’s first-ever live show when I was at the supple age of 15. We were performing at a dive called Club Rockit in Downtown Toronto back in 2004. I will never forget this story because it incorporates all of the elements that make up a nightmare gig, and how I handled it as a confused 15-year-old zilch. First of all, it was in the middle of January, and there was a massive storm that hit Toronto and we barely made it to the gig as we slid up and down the highway. Also, right before we hit the stage, I opened my guitar case and to my complete chagrin: my fuckin’ ax was smashed in 2 pieces.

So, up we went. There was me with no guitar and no sense of what to do with my hands as I clumsily sang through our songs like a mush-mouthed buffoon. Boy, we (I) stank up the joint good. As we got closer to the end of the set, I realized I had a decision to make: play out the last of our songs half heartedly, and then pack up and go home for a good cry, or do something so fuckin’ stupid that even though we were playing mediocre at best, the crowd would still go home and remember us. I chose the latter. In one foul swoop, I pulled of my pants and shirt reveling a tainted, ripe, skid-marked pair of tighty-whities and a matching pasty white stomach. I then proceeded to jump into the mosh pit and clobbered the shit out of people as my band riffed on the stage above.

It was this night that I learned a major lesson. There is no such thing as the perfect gig, and each night has a different obstacle to overcome. What makes a good performer is not just in how well he can play; it’s all in his capacity to deal with the bullshit!

A photo of the event in question can be seen below. To hear Fatality's music, check out the "Monstrous" music video at this location or head over to the band's Facebook profile here.

Check back in again next Tuesday for more Pit Stories from metal bands. More...

Fatality Recruits Former Drummer

Toronto party thrashers Fatality have announced in a recent blog update the return of original founding drummer Mason Le Von, brother of vocalist / guitarist Spencer Le Von. In the blog update, Spencer wrote:

"This is Spencer Le Von of Fatality with a big announcement regarding a recent line-up change. We have parted ways with our drummer Andrew 'Comfortability Snacks' Suarez and re-hired our original drummer and my brother Mason LeVon.

"There is no animosity or hard feelings towards Suarez and we still consider him to be a good friend. We wanted to thank him from the bottom of our tiny pink hearts for all his hard work and enthusiasm that made this band what it is today. We look forward to making more noise with him at some other point in the future."

Fatality Posts Final "Western Annihilation" Blog

Toronto party thrashers Fatality have posted the final tour blog online from the band's "Western Annihilation Tour." You can check out an excerpt from the blog below.

"So far on this tour, we have been in this godforsaken van for roughly 150 hours. That’s about 5 days in a row innit? Damn, that’s a lot of time to reflect on how awful I am, while simultaneously smelling other peoples flatulents.

"One of the hardest drives was to Phoenix, Arizona. It is the kind of heat that just makes you want to weep openly in front of all of strangers. The kind of humid thick heat that makes you sluggish, shiny and uncomfortable. We still managed to maintain some optimism because we were headed for the Inner City Youth Centre to play with one of our favorite bands on the planet: Vektor. For those who don’t know, Vektor is a fantastic 4 piece metal band that plays a very unusual and progressive style of thrash metal. Nothing better then playing a set and then sitting back with a few Millers and watching one of the best bands on the continent. The Vektor boys were also nice enough to let us stay at their house, which was a treat. The bass player Frank entertained the shit out of us by blowing up beer cans in the backyard with his assortment of weapons. More...

Fatality Announces "Western Annihiliation" Tour

Toronto's Fatality has announced the dates for the upcoming "Western Annihilation" tour that will see the band venture across west coast Canada and USA.

Spencer Le Von, vocalist/guitarist of Fatality, commented on the tour, "That’s right folks. Enough of the East, bring on the West. This is gonna get messy folks. The East was merely an appetizer. Its time to extend our version of Heavy Metal Indulgence to the masses. We are playing with a ton of great American and Canadian acts such as Bonded by Blood, Zombie Holocaust, Skull Hammer (Canada) and Vektor. Holy shit Nose! We will also be spending roughly a week in California. I have been warned about California. They say eat lots of In and Out bergs, Stay out of Compton and always, always, always check for an Adam’s Apple. I must say, I am very excited. Hope to see some of you on our travels. Get some sleep, friends."

Fatality recently completed the "Eastern Intoxication Tour" at the end of May, and the band chronicled the tour with a blog available at this location.
