The upcoming Rommelrock festival, which was to take place Friday and Saturday in Maasmechelen, Belgium, was cancelled. According to the promoters, the mayor of the town enforced a decision made back in May, in which he refused to issue a permit on the grounds that that the festival would cause unsafe conditions.
The announcement reads: "To our greatest regret, Rommelrock is forced to cancel the whole event. Seven years of intense labour, the spotless reputation, legal terms and liberties, in vain... Two court sessions made little difference... [The] mayor steps in to enforce the prohibition to organize Rommelrock, refuses to issue a license to permit Rommelrock 2013... such an improbable tale, as the decision of the Maasmechelen mayor made on May 13, 2013, is maintained, on so-called grounds of safety and public order... A boiling cauldron that spawned the anti-rommelrock story!
"Despite all the efforts taken and the fact we have the law and justice at our side according to the law and the constitution itself, the struggle ended in the worst possible way, forcing us to pull the plug out of this year's Rommelrock.
"We wish to express our deepest respect to all that supported us, and we apologize in the same time to all that suffered because of all this, despite all perseverance and tenacity.
We never wanted to see Rommelrock 2013, a special edition with exclusive shows and such, to end in this way."

Dutch heavy metallers Lord Volture have released their fifth podcast video, which includes exclusive live footage, revealing backstage shots, and crazy touring moments from the Metal Messiah European Tour. The tour went across Spain, France and Belgium where the band opened for Tim "Ripper" Owens.
Lord Volture has been performing in support of sophomore release “Never Cry Wolf,” released in November 2011. Currently the band is working on a third studio album and expect to enter the studio in the coming spring.
Dutch act Lord Volture has issued the following announcement about supporting Tim "Ripper" Owens on several European shows:

Dutch metal group Lord Volture posted up the third edition of the band's tour video podcast series. On this video, the bnd takes you back to the album release party for the sophomore release "Never Cry Wolf" on November 11th 2011. The band will tour the Netherlands in March as part of the second leg of the tour.

Netherlands based act Lord Volture has posted a music video online for "Hearts of Steel," which can be viewed below. The song is taken from the "Beast Of Thunder" (2010) album, featuring Jeff Waters from Annihilator. Lord Volture also commented:

Dutch traditional band Lord Volture signed with Rock 'N' Growl Promotion. The band are set to release the sophomore release "Never Cry Wolf" on November 11, 2011. The album was recorded at Final Focus Studio and was produced by Yuma van Eekelen (Pestilence) and Bart Henneph of Textures. The album features a guest appearance by Cage vocalist Sean Peck.

Netherlands based heavy metal group Lord Volture has finished recording the forthcoming album "Never Cry Wolf," which will contain 11 tracks. The production was entrusted to Yuma van Eekelen (Pestilence) and Bart Hennephof (Textures) from Final Focus Studio.
Among the tracks is a guest performance by vocalist Sean Peck from U.S. power metal crusaders Cage. The cover artwork was handled by artist Bas Wijers and can be viewed below. "Never Cry Wolf" is scheduled for November 11th, 2011.
Lord Volture, who just released their debut album, "Beast Of Thunder," in June 2010, is working on their sophomore effort already. The band plans to head to the studio in March and April 2011 to record their second full-length, which will be titled "Never Cry Wolf." It is not
known yet when and how the album will be released, but you can hear some the new
material in the form of two instrumental demo samples on the band's MySpace player.
