Vocalist Rick Altzi Splits With Thunderstone

After recently breaking its silence and then splitting with drummer Mirka Rantanen, Thunderstone announced the departure of vocalist Rick Altzi, who was forced to depart due to his obligations with Masterplan.

The announcement reads: "Thunderstone has parted ways with singer Rick Altzi, who joined the band in 2009 and is featured on the much-acclaimed album ‘Dirt Metal’. As many of you know, Rick recently joined our friends Masterplan and is currently touring with them. The band would like to thank Rick for an amazing job on ‘Dirt Metal’ and the countless fun times on tour. Cheers brother and good luck with your future endeavours!"

Rick Altzi commented: "It's with mixed feelings that I and the rest of Thunderstone have decided to part ways. On the one hand I really loved the album ‘Dirt metal’ and feel proud of what we achieved. On the other hand I now realise I wouldn't have had the time that a great band like Thunderstone deserves. I wish the guys a great future."
