Man, I've got a lot of respect and admiration for Jesse, but this just came across as a bit bland.
The vocals were unmistakably Jesse, but its too polished. There's no embellishments, no variation with the melodies. A big part of what I enjoyed about AOJB was the emotion he put into his performance. Maybe the pain he was experiencing then helped to make it a bit more raw. IDK. Another thing I was drawn to were his lyrics. These seem alot more vague and possibly designed to appeal to a broader audience.
I really hope for the other songs to hit harder than this one did.

It has more hooks than a tackle box and it's as simple as a two piece puzzle but pretty good, as far as radio singles go.
I'd say better than anything after "Heartache"... If the rumored 'faster' and 'heavier' songs can keep pace with the debut album and "Alive or Just Breathing" I'll pretend that this is their 4th release.

Nothin' against Howard, but I've been waiting for this since Jesse left... I agree that this song sounds a bit polished and obvious, but then the Metalcore has been swamped with bland crap since Jesse's last involvement with the group... God, the lyrics in this song are just awful! haha - but still, Jesse! JESSE!! :D haha

I loved the old KSE with Jesse layin down them tracks. Yall are sayin polished and bland, I am in total agreement. Good screaming, good clean vocalin. I will still miss the Howard era.
Not many people can match what Howards voice can do. His range and his screams are pretty hard to beat by anybody.

I kinda agree with dB. Does sound a tad like Soilwork. Not sure what to think about this yet. Can't say I really enjoyed that track. :/ Doesn't make me more excited about the album that's for sure. I'll still check it out...I'll always have a soft spot for KsE (and especially Howard Jones, hopefully he finds some inspiration and a new home soon).

I'm glad they're back together. Times of Grace was fine and Howard did a great job, but not too much beats the original KSE.
