Disturbed And Finch Fight At Rolling Rock Town Fair
DISTURBED and FINCH got into an onstage brawl at the Rolling Rock Town Fair in Latrobe, PA earlier today. The fight, which took place while FINCH were preparing to take the stage, was reportedly the culmination of an ongoing feud between the two bands stemming from an interview FINCH gave to MeanStreet magazine in late 2002. In that interview, FINCH guitarist Randy Strohmeyer said about DISTURBED singer David Draiman, "I'd shoot him in the fucking head. I'd rip his stupid little piercings out. They're just cheesy. It bums me out because their music is terrible, and what they're about, it's just shit. Hopefully all that music will die out soon, and hopefully it will make room for the good music."
A posting at the FINCH web site regarding today's incident reads as follows:
"To anyone who either witnessed or heard about today's incident at the Rolling Rock Town Fair. While we were setting up, one of the members of DISTURBED, [guitarist] Dan Donegan, was harassing us from the side of the stage. Before we were to play, Randy (our guitarist) walked over to Dan to explain that the comments he made a few years ago were a joke, and to give him a friendly handshake. Dan proceeded to assault Randy and DISTURBED's singer, David Draiman, attacked Mike Herrara (our drum tech), which caused a fight to ensue. We want everyone to know that FINCH did not start this fight. However, we do not take kindly to being assaulted or having our lives threatened. We would like this little conflict to be resolved as soon as possible, but we will not give in to bullying bands threatening us or our fans."

We as a society are told all of our imformation, and when people make judgemental comments that are far from the truth, it pisses me off. I don't think the situation between the band members and who started it is not clear enough to point the blame on someone, but hopefully that situation is resolved, and the bullsh** has stopped... i agree with Dark on the whole poser issure. actually i didnt know there are people still calling one another posers. wow, i thought that finally f**cking died out. anywho. for the record i listen to finch, and not disturbed, don't kick my a** or yell at me. its my music choice. boohoo i think you'll all survive that one. but the issue isn't what band we prefer. the fact is these two got into a fight and they want to state the record that both bands don't want their fans to feel threatened. i do think what randy said in 2002 was pretty harsh. but for dan and david to 'attack' randy and mike TWO YEARS after what has been said, i found pathetic in my opinion. besides not everyone likes one band's music. there will always be differences, and there's no use in fighting over it. but what happened happened, and i think that everyone should leave it at that. because now all thats happening is the fans of both bands are creating a division between the two. that shouldn't happen. we shouldn't have to hide the music we like. music is expressing ourselves in our own ways as cheesy as that sounds. hopefully the dispute ends at the fists and not their fans.

First of all i actually witnessed this fight (i was at the fair) and a few of Disturbeds band members had dogs and family members with them at the time so it wasnt a planned fight. From what i saw a Finch member or Roadie pushed a disturbed dude and disturbed and some of their buddies just started beatin Finchs ass. From what that day said it really looked like finch started it. That bullsh** on thier website about Finch wanting to shake thier hands is a bunch of bullsh**. As far as im concerned Finch deserved this even if they didnt start the actully fight with thier fists, the real fight started when they made that death thret. dont you think thats a good enough reason to kick someones ass?? ...Oh and by the way Disturbed kicked a$$ on stage playing as well!! I like Disturbed so this comment will probably be a little skewed towards the good side...but from what I read from unbiased sources (or as closed to unbiased) is this. Dan from Disturbed saw Finch taking the stage as they were getting off (it was a rotating stage so it was at the same time). Finch saw him and pointed and giggled (who the f*** giggles at a 6'0+ dude?). Dan walked up to them (or only the guitarist) and asked them why they threated David's life. He probably said it aggressively (since a comment like that would probably anger most of us) and Finch's guitarist took a swing. David was walking his dog around the stage (don't ask) and ran over to help. Then everyone got together and started swinging. No one got too injured (although it was reported that the guitarist from Finch took a swing a David's head with his guitar) and there probably won't be any charges. Finch was escorted to their tour bus after their set because Sevendust and Disturbed were waiting for them backstage.
I got this from reading a bunch of websites including (yes I know they suck) mtv.com which seemed the least biased, including both sides of the story. I doubt the attack was planned by Disturbed because David was walking his f***ing dog...unless they are very, very clever.

I was at the show and saw the fight. It didn't look to me like Disturbed provoked anything. I would be p***ed off, too, if someone threatened me like that during a public interview.

album and i wrote about it, but you britney, you have probably never read my review,
so i have heard more than the song "what it is to burn", which i might add was the
ONLY thing holding that album together. and sure they are a good live band.

a little more melody to it now, but that's what occurs when you play music for
a really long time.

what the hell makes you think that i have to believe in a god. what logic is that. for one i know for a fact their is no satan because if god truly loves you and is willing to forgive all of your sins then why would there be a need for hell. he wants to make his most precious creation suffer for eternity in the pit of hell. give me a f***ing break. heres another reason why i dont believe in god, other than all the scientific proof that contradicts almost everything in the bible. bad things happening to good people. what about a guy who gets trashed and decides to drive home that night and swerves into the other lane and hits a honor student and kills her on impact. but he escapes with just minor injuries, but thats just gods will right? f*** you, sh** like that is so hypocritical because from the time i could f***ing talk i was told oh gods greatest gift to us was our life so cherish it but he is willing to take it away from a girl with her whole life ahead of her. are you guys joking. another thing you have to understand is that all of those stories in the bible are just that. they are stories, do you think those war slaves back then who are credited for writing the old testament had any idea how the world worked thats f***ing bullsh**. heres another thought. how about all of those thousands of years before jesus, all of those civilizations like ancient greece or the roman empire that believed in multiple gods. your telling me for those thousands of years they just ended up in hell or purgatory. come on. jesus was a regular human being like the rest of us who started a cult. he preached violence against other religions. he persuaded his followers with fear, that if they didnt believe they would go TO HELL!!!. and whats the best way to get people to follow you. make yourself look like your above man. have your apostles say you can perform miracles get the populace to think you are gods son. its all just f***ing tall tales. christianity conforms you to thinking that enjoying the fruits of life is wrong and sinful so they keep you believing from fear. if your afraid of going to hell you will believe and pray and give donations to your church. religion f***ing disgusts me and so do you people

By the way KMADD; I seen on my metalupdate.com newsletter that Cradle of Filth is playing on Oct. 27 in Cincinnati. I'm not sure where; it's the only site I've seen that said that. Ticketmaster, nor Bogarts has it on there's. But they do have Type O & Amorphis; Deicide, Cattle Decapitation, Goatwhore, & Jungle Rot; Ministry & Thrill Kill Kult; & Slayer, Mastodon, & Killswitch.
