Ihsahn Joining God Of Atheists As Keyboardist
God Of Atheists is Asgeir Mickelson's (Spiral Architect, Borknagar) new extreme metal project, and the band has now issued the following brief statement about recruiting ex-Emperor member and current solo artist Ihsahn:
"Proudly presenting the mighty Ihsahn on keyboard! His contribution adds a new dimension to the music without making God Of Atheists symphonic extreme metal - just as intended! Stoked!"
The current God of Atheists lineup is:
Asgeir Mickelson - Guitar
Trym - Drums
ICS Vortex - Vocals
Carl August Tidemann - Solo guitar
Keyboards - Ihsahn

Asgeir Mickelson and Vortex worked closely together on Vortex's solo album which was tied for my album of the year 2011. Mickelson is a drummer by trade but also an artist and guitarist and this is no doubt being pushed by him.
Trym is a genius drummer but no doubt he'll be getting instruction from Asgeir, and I think Ihsahn will just be adding his flavor to music that was no doubt already written beforehand. Looking forward to hearing Tidemann shred too!

Definitely more excited for this than any other recent collaboration, and I'm glad to see Ihsahn joining a project, even if he isn't doing vocal or guitar. I wonder if this will ever go on the road though? Seems like Ihsahn isn't interested in touring much. ICS Vortex is a great addition too, that solo album of his grows on me more every time I listen to it.

Lol, I deserved that.
@Progressivity_In_All - We can hope man, one of my favourite bands. In the meanwhile if your in need of a fix I suggest two very similar bands, Psychotic Waltz and Twisted Into Form (which features ex-SA members). Spiral Architect is almost the spiritual successor to PW first album.

This band man.... holy christ this band... there is only one way this band could be more exciting and that's if they announce Lars K Norberg on bass.
