RIP,to a legend in heavy music! My first introduction to DP was the "Perfect Strangers" album i bought when in high school. Led me to dig deeper and purchase thier older classics. Never saw DP live,a shame. But the older i get,the more appreciative of the classics ive become.

Magician Jon Lord chilled my bones with his fantastic play on keyboards and piano since the end of the sixties.
I have been fortunate to see him play many times and always have been a great fan of him. So sad that he has passed away having this horrible disease. May his legend live forever, rest in peace my friend.

The saddest part about this, is that his death will not be as widespread as someone like Amy Winehouse. Jon Lord has achieved so much in his career, and left behind an amazing legacy. To such an extent that Amy Winehouse or the other bird who passed away cannot touch.
But then again it may be best for Jon's death to be mourned by the people who were truly fans of his work, and inspired by it.

@R10: MY INTRO TO DEEP PURPLE WAS THE PERFECT STRANGERS TAPE WHEN I WAS IN HIGH SCHOOL TOO. I NOW KEEP THE PERFECT STRANGERS CD IN MY TRUCK CD HOLDER, ALONG WITH OTHER METAL CLASSICS. WHEN I LEARNED OF JON LORD'S PASSING, I DROVE AROUND AND LISTENED TO THIS CLASSIC DEEP PURPLE ALBUM. R.I.P. JON LORD. YOUR PLAYING AND CRACKED KEYBOARD TONE WERE EPIC!
