Former Cro-Mags Bass Player Harley Flanagan Reportedly Stabs Current Cro-Mags Bassist Mike Couls In The Chest
According to BoweryBoogie.com, a hardcore show featuring Sick of it All, Cro-Mags and Vision Of Disorder, had to be cancelled tonight when Harley Flanagan, founding (and former) bass player of the Cro-Mags, reportedly entered the VIP Lounge with a knife and stabbed current Cro-Mags bassist Mike Couls in the chest. An excerpt of events reads as follows:
"Cops quickly appeared and took him away in cuffs. Not before he had already stabbed some dude in the chest (said victim left the scene with a bandage over the wound). Because of the violence the rest of the show was canceled. The remaining bands promised to reschedule the show. To be fair, Webster Hall security contained the situation professionally. Lots of drunken, pissed off hardcore fans were on edge after the cops shut down the show, but the scene was cleared without further incident."

I was there tonight and everyone was p***ed he f***ed up a legendary bill for everyone. f*** Harley. Finally, he is no longer a scourge on this scene. I saw that sh**head get wheeled out in the secure restraint chair and he had a slight twitch, and knowing his past, he was on something; he certainly looked like it, and apparently stumbled into VIP and was acting like a nut minutes before he went into Webster Hall based on what was said by someone. If he does get out before he gets before a judge, oh boy, there is no place in the country that dude can hide; certain NYC crews don't play. They'll find him. I feel bad for his kids. At least he won't taint the NY scene anymore. f*** you, Harley Flanagan. Good f***ing riddance! And for the information of MTV Fan, it wasn't just "somebody" who got stabbed; too bad you weren't the victim, then we'd have one less idiotic poser running around and screwing up the name of Punk, Oi, and Hardcore for those who truly are. The victim of Harley's idiotic attack was Mike Couls, the CURRENT bassist for the Cro-Mags. If you are providing information for people in the form of a new article, you must be accurat, correct, and know what the F*** you're talking about. I hope for a speedy recovery for Mike, and I hope to see the Mags again soon (They Played an AWESOME show last Saturday at the Dirty South Fest in Carrboro, North Carolina)!

Branded and jackrum...not everyone who likes hardcore is a stabby retard...if you like crossover thrash then you have to acknowledge the hardcore influence. I hope the guy who got stabbed is ok. Does anyone think bath salts caused harley's rampage? There is absolutely nothing "hardcore" about ruining a great show that lots of people were excited for.

John J is carrying on the Cro-Mags,Harley obviously has issues. I saw the Cro-Mags open for Motorhead at the Channel in Boston,'86! But damn,VOD,cro-mags and SOIA is a badass show!

I can't believe you saw the Cro-mags with Motorhead...that was probably the best show ever. After this incident i'll probably take john joseph's side in any future disputes.
