The band just announced a headlining tour late last week with Jeff Loomis, presented by Metalsucks with additional sponsorship from Royal Family Clothing and Guitar World Magazine. Kicking off in Indianapolis, IN, dates will run through July and August. Support will come from Chimp Spanner and 7 Horns 7 Eyes. The band will also be featured on a handful of dates in this year's Summer Slaughter tour.

The "Intrinsic" track listing is as follows:

1. Holomovement
2. Feedback Loop
3. Causality
4. Sequential Vision
5. Geocentric Confusion
6. Dreaming Schematics
7. Anatomy Anomalies
8. Cortical
9. Solipsis
10. Parallel Trance

The Contortionist will release new record "Intrinsic" on July 17th, 2012 via eOne/Good Fight Music. "On 'Intrinsic', we've found ourselves focusing on the songwriting as well as the new textures and melody we're striving for. Each song has its own identity and flow, but the album is fun to listen through in order cause of the conceptual ties," says vocalist / keyboardist Jonathan Carpenter.

Man, this song could've been so much better..I loved the ambience and the Karnivool-esque clean singing in the beginning but I'm getting sick of the "BRORBRORBRORBROAAAAR SCREAMSCREAMSCREAMSCREEEEEEAAM" template that pretty much every single new "metal" band employs. To all these new bands with Whitechapel-Bro-growling vocalists : Do something original for f***s sake, something that makes your voice stand out, at least. And yes, there ARE and have been growling vocalists who have unique and recognizable voices like John Tardy, Mikael Stanne from Dark Tranquility, Randy Blythe. Or even Tommy Rogers from BTBAM, (a relatively new band) who manages to sound convincingly distinct. I couldn't listen to Exoplanet for more than a minute and now I'm gonna stay away from this one as well. Next!
