Metallica has checked in with the following announcement about filming the band's upcoming show in Vancouver for a new 3D movie:
"We're super excited to announce that the gigantic, massive brand new Metalli-show will head north following a sold out run of eight shows in Mexico City, with the first stop in Edmonton, AB on August 17 at Rexall Place followed by Vancouver, BC on August 24 at Rogers Arena.
"The Vancouver show brings a twist to the mix - you'll be a part of the show!! That's right, we will be filming this show all in 3D for... you guessed it, the upcoming Metallica 3D movie that we've mentioned on and off a few times this year.
"We couldn't think of a better place than Vancouver to end the three week new stage run with cameras capturing it all, so bring your nuttiest, craziest Metalli-self to the show, be a part of movie history, and show the rest of the world how much Vancouver rocks.
"Tickets for both the Edmonton and Vancouver shows go on sale this Friday, May 25 at 10:00 AM local time with a Live Nation pre-sale on Thursday, May 24 from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM. Clubbers - your pre-sale starts on Wednesday, May 23, so log in now for all the details.
"For those of you wondering what lies ahead, the emphasis here is on 'end of our three week new stage run' as these are indeed the last dates that we are announcing for summer of 2012.
"There is a lot going on in the Orion Music + More world as we count down the days to the weekend festival in Atlantic City, NJ on June 23 and 24. With over 30 bands & comedians on the schedule already, Volbeat and Baroness have been added to complete the line-up!! Check out the full schedule here."

3D movies are so lame and are usually covering lackluster plot/acting, or in this case band that should have called it quits decades ago. I'll see a 3D movie when there are vents underneath the chairs and misters and sh** like at Universal Studios Terminator Show in 3D, until then my movies at home and in the cinema are just fine in "2D"

I agree Bruno, 3D kinda blows. And to be honest after 20 minutes into the movie, I don't even make a distinction that its 3D anymore. I guess my eyes just kinda become adjusted to it. Plus it always gives my wife a headache. So yeah, we go to all 2D movies now and skip 3D.

IN 3D! That album revitalized metallica and Lou Reed's Career. I don't understand why critics sordidly lambasted that album.... IT is something that is very unexpected and they deserve to win a grammy! GOD BLESS METALLICA AND LARS ULRICH and DEATH TO THE INFIDELS AKA BRANDED

Metallica in 3d?
Hmmm...wouldn't it be easier to just see them live?
It's not like they never tour...
I just can't imagine the third dimension would add any depth (pun intended) to any of the music post "Justice".
Only if they have a Cliff hologram.
