Mutilation Rites Kicks Off Tour With New Bassist Ryan Jones, To Release "Empyrean" Album In May

The Brooklyn-based black/doom/crust metal quartet Mutilation Rites, hailed by MetalSucks as "evil as fuck," will release the band's Prosthetic debut, "Empyrean," on May 22nd.

The album was recorded at Developing Nations in Baltimore, MD with Kevin Bernsten (Triac). More information about the release will be unveiled in the coming weeks.

Last week in Buffalo, the group kicked off a three-week tour that will include several high-profile performances at SXSW, a Dallas gig alongside Alcest and a half-dozen shows with Hull. This marks Mutilation Rites' first tour with new bassist Ryan Jones (Today Is The Day, Wetnurse). Dates are as follows:
