Damageplan Breaks Into Top 40
DAMAGEPLAN's much-hyped debut CD, "New Found Power", sold 44,676 copies in the U.S. during its first week of release to debut at position No. 38 on next week's The Billboard 200 chart, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
The group, which includes ex-PANTERA members Dimebag Darrell (guitar) and Vinnie Paul (drums), fared substantially better than their former bandmate Philip Anselmo, whose first two offerings with his current project SUPERJOINT RITUAL, 2002's "Use Once And Destroy" and 2003's "A Lethal Dose Of American Hatred", registered first-week tallies of 13,690 (No. 87) and 20,269 (No. 55), respectively. DAMAGEPLAN's numbers are especially impressive when you consider the fact that PANTERA's "greatest hits" collection, "The Best of Pantera: Far Beyond the Great Southern Cowboys' Vulgar Hits!", shifted a total of 28,747 units (No. 38) in its first week of release last September (PANTERA's last official studio album, 2000's "Reinventing The Steel", opened with a tally of more than 161,000 to debut at No. 4).
In that same week, Dave Grohl's metal side-project PROBOT sold 27,380 copies in its first week of release, landing at position No. 68 on next week's The Billboard 200 chart.

I'm not a fan of either superjoint or damageplan, but the only thing I like about them is that they don't sound like that sh+t they put on the radio all day. Radioplay=sh+t, Underground=The Sh+t. they need to do Pantera and stop shooting their mouths off on each other and start shooting their mouths off on whack bands like Linkin Park...............LP=Sh+t

Hey, Phil the f*&&head has no respect for anything on earth whatsoever! He badmouthed Metallica many years back and look what he did with Down, he just copied New Metallica. Then, he thought he suddenly became God and hence wanted to spend more time all alone on his side trast projects and started badmouthing Pantera. The guy is a total a$$hole, if he takes those f***ing pills, thats what is going to happen, he should just soberup, apologize to Dime and Vinny and make a mother of all metal album with them. At the end of the day, we are the losers, with no Pantera, this world sucks...
