Polish technical death metal band Decapitated has pulled out of the upcoming Damnation Festival in Leeds and the Aalborg Metal Festival due to a plane crash. Apparently, the band was on a flight back to Poland from the U.S. and was forced to make an emergency landing in Warsaw when landing gear failed. Miraculously, no one was killed.

Ulver has agreed to fill in by extending the band's set to 90 minutes.

The plane's landing was captured on video, and can be seen here:

JEEEEEEEEZUS!!!!!!!!!
First Witek and Covan and now this.
I'd tell them to walk to their gigs but they'd probably get hit by a truck.
Talk about bad luck.
So not cool.

Damn! Decapitated was on THAT plane? It's been in the news here quite a lot as few Finn hockey players were on it as well.

That was close. I wonder why Polish and Russian planes are constantly in trouble...

I'm glad the members didn't die in that plane crash like Buddy Holly or Stevie Ray Vaughan did.

They are not Polish planes
Its a Boeing airplane 767
and the previous crash of Russian airplane TU, was in a perfect running condition it was a pilot error.
And I dont understand why they would cancel shows because of this, you keep on going, it has nothing to do with anything, with the band or the previous death in the band. I've flown with the pilot that died in a airplane crash this june in Poland, this will not stop me from flying it makes me want to fly even more. They should not give up, rise up, face this bad luck or whatever it might be. Rise up. And the landing of the 767 was smoother than some of the landing I have experienced, and I know the pilot, very experienced pilot, perfect example of a controlled emergency landing they have practiced many times.

Agreed on the "experienced pilot" point and the controlled smooth landing. Quite extraordinary. I also agree it is much safer to fly than drive. However, as a "non-pilot," who has never been in a plane crash of any type, controlled or not, I can totally relate to this situation causing anyone to experience a least a wee bit of fear when traveling by air again.

Glad they're all OK. Maybe Decapitated should just be a studio band? Bad luck for sure.

Holy sh**!! The worst thing that could happen to these guys is one of them actually GETS decapitated lmao. I think if that ever happens to band will either break up due to some medieval curse or some sh**, or they realize that being in Decapitated has a chance of death...

But seriously now, wtf? Why are these guys going through such dangerous circumstances?? Do they HAVE to walk around with life-jackets on, like the vegans in South Park?? LMAO
