Fantomas Work On Their Second
According to drummer Dave Lombardo and BW&BK, the heralded Fantomas are already commencing work on the follow-up to Director's Cut.
Here is the rest:
"I'm focusing hard on this. It's really taking up a lot of time," said Lombardo to BW&BK recently. "I mean, I've been on tour now since June 18th and I'm on until October 9th. So it's good, nice and solid. And we're going to be ready to go into the studio again for another record in January. For the next one, the songs are going to be originals."
The ex-Slayer drummer further explained the direction of the upcoming material: "They're not going to be like the new record which is soundtrack songs, copies. The songs are going to be a little bit longer than on the first record. The first record was very short, like a comic book. These ones will be a little longer but still with the Fantomas flavour to it. So far that's all I know from the five songs that I have. I don't know how many songs Mike (Patton, lead vocals) wants to put on the record."
Fantomas is currently on the road with Tool until October 30. The band's Director's Cut album is out now on Ipecac Records.
