I admit to being a long time MA fan. First few listens of this one were with mixed feelings, but it's now starting to gel and I am enjoying ALL of it.
I agree with METAL213, Morbid Angel have a big legion of fans and those fans would have bought this regardless of the reviews.
While not a 'typical' MA release, still pretty good....but then again...what is a typical MA release?

I'm not going to whine here to much as that's all I've done since I heard the song titles, then those atrocious monstrosities themselves (songs).
I knew this album would storm out the gate by all the loyal Morbid fans...but where will Illud be a month from now when the shock has finally settled in?
One of two things will happen...the album will drop off the radar quicker than....I don't even know what.
Or Morbid will somehow stay on the charts and that will be the end of the band as I knew it.
What I find intriguing is Vincent is still involved with Sandoval with Terrorizer.....note to Pete.....KEEP HIM ON BASS ONLY!!!
No vocals.
No songwriting.
NOTHING.
HE FVCKED UP MORBID ENOUGH AS IT IS.
Ok, I guess I'm not done whining. :)

No doubt they have a large following and after a 6 year wait, that following is probably starving for something new. Whether or not those sales equal satisfied fans is another matter. Reminds me of the situation with most Metallica albums since the black album actually.

Wow, shows you right there that even despite the winds of opposition Morbid Angel has some serious clout as a big name.
