This has to be an inside joke at Victory Records. There isn't a single thing about this band that is credible, authentic, honest, talented, original... this only this it is, is a disgrace.

I usually refrain from negative comments on bands, as we are all individuals with different tastes. But, from a technical perspective, that was the worst pile of sh** i have heard in some time. A pathetic effort at trying to write something in the vein of progressive and slightly mathcore. When people who do not like metal say "it just sounds like noise", this must be what they are hearing. Terrible.

That is the only recorded material out from design the skyline. the band and the lable know what is being recorded and what is coming out next. They wouldnt just sign a band if they thought it was terrible they know what there doing and none of you know anything behind it. Just be patient and quit hating.

p, a fair point but to promote the band by showing this track is surely bad business. For most people have not heard the band, this will be the first thing they hear (like me) and it isn't - in my opinion - going to win too many people over. I am all for listening to other tracks come the release of the album, but if this is anything to go by, not going to impress me.

actually i am in the band. We are re-recording an album at the moment, the tracks on it are more organized and stuctured and better tansistions and are overall in MY opinion better than the music video song. I know it may be shocking alot of people by getting signed and all they can see is this video.. The lable has heard all the other material and were impressed otherwise. All i can say is sit back and wait for the album to come out. thanks everyone!

This music is raw. Under the right supervision, it could be refined. It will really take the right individual to guide these kids into refinement. You're kidding? Well, maybe you're talking about the songwriting. But clearly there is one thing that stands out to me about this band and that is they have had a fantastic producer labour over this track. That's it, a testament to the power of the great pop music machine to generate what it wants from any random bunch of kids or pretty star that fits the bill.

Hellrat, there's alot more to metal these days than just Slayer and Iron Maiden and being nekro, kvlt and evil.

Either way, just because I posted news on this band, or any other band you do not like for that matter, does not mean I enjoy them. It does not mean I am personally singling them out for coverage or that I am a fan. News is news and I report on any band - as does every writer on this site. If it weren't posted by me, Ty or Oz or even DB would have got around to it. Metalunderground is growing as fast as it is, especially in the Facebook realm of "fans" because of the wide range of bands we cover in all areas of the metal scene.

You obviously missed out on all of my show reports. If you were to check into them you'd see what my personal taste in metal actually is.

As for news, I post news on bands of whatever is available. If its out there, I post it. There are countless times each day I arrive at a press email and Ty has already posted it, its just the way it goes. I do not discriminate against genre, "talent," or skill level and try my best to refrain from those elitist attitudes. I just post everyday news, so I can collect some extra cash at the end of the month. Everyone who posts news here is essentially copy and pasting from record label press releases sent in email form anyways. The real journalism aspect comes in with show reports and columns, of which every regular writer on here is considerably talented in.

99% of the bands I post news on were already in the database before I posted news on them, which means someone else added them. The ones that are added by me, have to be approved by DB first and if they aren't worthy - they are removed. I am certainly not a fan of Design the Skyline, or any other scene/core band for that matter. But I'm not here to debate genre or anyone's personal preference. I post news because right now its my job, its how I earn my money and I enjoy the job greatly.

Some may seem to be forgetting that MU is a place that offers a vast variety of news on every sub-genre of the metal world. Everything from old school heavy metal to this new wave of young core bands are given an equal opportunity to be covered. Its completely up to the reader to determine what style fits their tastes and the reader has freewill to choose which article he and she reads. That's the beauty of it. Everyone here choose to read this article and choose to listen to the music. I am simply the middle man who passed the information along for you to choose if it met your interests or not.

Although it did say "...signs with Victory Records" though. Shouldn't that have been any indication for traditional metal fans not to read this? lol

I'd take it as his religious ferver towards metal, nothing personal.

Also T_A_G, I can quote you in an article saying you enjoy The Browning who were (prior to seeing this abomination) my barometer for scene/core.

Sorry guys, How have I've missed out on this quality band and thread? They are my new fav band. I hope they have glittery band shirts I can buy! :-)

OK, let me weigh in here:

1. This is just awful.

2. Some scene kids probably listen to it and like it.

3. Cynic, to call it hardcore would be a disgrace to hardcore.

4. It's "heavy" and metal/hardcore/metalcore derivative, so it's relevant, even though most of our readers probably wouldn't enjoy it. Without going down the entire line of reasoning, some people who like stuff heavier, but close to this (deathcore/metalcore) might like it, and some who like this may come here and be introduced to other metal/metalcore/deathcore. Hence the term "relevant."

5. Please don't attack people for posting news on bands we cover, or attack our staff at all. We all post news on more than just what we like, or else we'd have gaping holes in our coverage. He's doing his job. And this was a good post, because we all need a good laugh :-)

6. Staind had credibility and a good couple first albums. Nickelback did not.

7. On "where metal is going" - metal is well known for mixing genres for the past couple of decades. Mix in some folk, symphonic, ethnic sounds, etc into just about any genre of metal. Unfortunately many of the younger "scener" bands are mixing pop fx into their music to be more accessible (or maybe just because), and here's what you get. Most of us "real" metalheads would be turned off by their image alone, much less the music. Whether or not the style picks up any steam, I doubt it will have any real impact on metal, nor do I think it's accessible enough to have any real impact on music. I hope not. But with that aggression, some of those kids may in fact grow up into real, respectable metalheads one day and may look back at the floppy hair the same way we look at the feathered hair of the 80s. Their music sucks, just like the path 80's hair metal went down (some was metal and some went overboard to the point of mockery... Trixter anyone?). These are just the dying breaths of the metalcore scene, IMO.

That's my quick take on all of this. Carry on.
