Zakk Wylde Speaks On American Idol Appearance
Black Label Society frontman and former Ozzy Osbourne sidekick Zakk Wylde has explained why he appeared on a recent episode of the hit reality show, American Idol. Speaking to USA Today, Wylde claims it was professional wrestler and Fozzy frontman Chris Jericho who set up his appearance, stating:
"Father Jericho called me up," says the Black Label Society founder. "He's on Dancing With the Stars, so we've been busting his balls about that." According to Wylde, James asked Jericho to make the call on his behalf.
"It was that easy," Wylde says. "I was, like, yeah, no problem. Then the American Idol people gave me the song to learn. Sammy Hagar, no problem. I bought it from iTunes: off and running."
You can check out videos of the performance here or here while they last, or search for more here.

i saw it on youtube, quite disturbing... they are "mainstreaming" metal... like where it should not be, i mean i'd love for metal to be mainstream, but it just shows how 'mainstream' some of this stuff already is, but in the BAD way. i'd rather see a talented musician on the stage such of the likes of jeff loomis, tim roth, Misha Mansoor etc.
either way i find every 'metal' song the singer does is something you'd hear on any classic ROCK radio station.

I would have thought this was a late April Fools joke if I never seen it on TV while channel surfing.
Zakk did a good job on guitar and stayed pretty quiet when the host asked him questions.
The singer ain't all bad, just on a sh!t show with singers that release a couple of hits then die off into doing small pub shows. not too impressive tho.

It's there, BG1, no question.
I just hope the kid doesn't suffer from "board fright"; A non-member (as usual), one line, all lower-case... Looks like he posted it in a hurry.
If he took his time without wetting his pants and put some thought in it, we really might have something here ;)
