Hellrat: I lot of metal heads look over BTBAM. I did at first. I thought to myself that they were simply another metal-core (a genre I don't pay attention to) band.
However, this is a rare band that have created amazing albums. In fact, I would argue that every subsequent album they have made has been progressively better than the previous. Their skill is unquestionable.
To anyone who has yet to give BTBAM a serious listen - Do it! You won't be disappointed.
Yea n0thing I don't know why I've been neglecting this band. But I'm gonna get this now, and listen to their older stuff.
I wish I was alive back then, like the 80's or whatever. Actually I'd rather been born just before the 70's so I could've seen the birth of metal. That would've been awesome.
LMFAO!!!! @ bg, oh, u gaylord lmao
what i meant was that 1985 was the yr my parents got married, so i was literally just a thought, not even a sperm cell yet lol
zma: that would be cool dude. but i rather have been around the late 80's, cuz i rather like 80's pop like depeche mode, and that rap was good too. also, love 90's rock and metal. grunge and MELODIC DEATH METAL \m/
I agree with you n0thing. The 80's brought so amazing stuff. I mean either way I wish I could've been around to any of that lol. I'm a 90's guy so I saw a ton of grunge and asorted pop rock. I'm sad to say I wasn't into much of that though until way later in the 90's. Once the latter part of the 90's came around it hit me with White Zombie's Astro Creep, and then around 97 Jimmie's Chicken Shack hit big with Pushing the Salmanilla Envelope (great album) and then 98 Rob Zombie Hellbilly Deluxe. After that I really got into it a little more.
Nah n0thing I meant that as in I grew up in the 90's with you dug in deep as that fvcked up music war between grunge metal and rap raged on. I turned 21 a few months back also so I'm with you heh heh. I'm kinda glad I'm around in this time period though, because there's so much great music out now that I can drown out the bad music to.
It just would've been nice to be around in like 72 or 74 to see Sabbath and Judas Priest lead the way for other crazy bands.
Hey dude I'm with you, I work in a music store, I got kids comin' in all day takin' lessons listening to disney crap and horrible nickelodeon pop stuff.
You just gotta board up the doors (to your mind) and wait it out lol. Yea I don't know.
But I feel your pain either way because of that, and the fact that I lived in Florida growin' up so I know what it's like over there. The only thing I want outta Florida is the warm weather.

Yea NHead your hardly gonna get any crying for ya for that Miami weather plus S Beach. Metal scene or not! Slug it out through a New England winter and you'd be begging for Miami! Seriously dude I'm wondering if you heard of metal core legends Poison the Well. Floridians themselves;unfortunately their on hiatus. They have 3 or 4 great albums that are must own! You actually have a lot of great bands down there in Florida

Being a New Yorker ZMA I'm sure you know a huge percentage of Florida are from New England and the mid Atlantic region. Plenty of NY accents down there. Shaffer and Barlow @ IE specifically are origionally from Indiana. I might be wrong so any IE fans help out with this.
that's true about alotta DM bands are from here, but i'm not that too into DM, i'm more of a mdm kinda guy, along with groove and prog. also like quite a bit of core, which there's almost nothing but deathcore bands in the underground scene here. poison the well was great, back then. i remember being into them way back when i was just a little jit lol but FL isn't known for DM or not even -core, but fvckin' emo, pop punk, rap/hip hop, maybe post-hardcore, and (randomly) marilyn manson lmao
have only heard "Specular Reflection" and thought it was their best vocal performance yet, their most progressive yet, and possibly their most Metal yet. Saw them live last year and they were alright, they are visiting my city with support bands i like so will see them next month.
Yea that song is pretty badass. Heh heh, it's funny to think that it basically is an EP but the length of a full LP. I guess I chose a good album to get into this band haha. I gotta listen to their old stuff. But I'm gonna keep a look out for their new releases from now on.
I personally enjoy all of their albums. From the earliest to the most recent EP you can really see the band develop. Considering how great their first album was...that's impressive. I think Gojira are on a similar path..they just keep getting better!
I enjoyed the review of the EP. I heard there is a full length album coming out next that works off this EP. That's what I'm really looking forward too. These 3 songs are tight and well done but it still leaves you wanting more. For BTBAM to sound their best I think you need an hours worth of music that really takes you on a journey. After all, it's hard for me to listen to their last few albums and not want to stay from start to finish.
