"some music was meant to stay underground..."

The Haunted Minus One

As of September 17th 2001, guitarist Anders Bjšrler left THE HAUNTED. His exit was due to the following personal reasons detailed in the following statement released this week:

"I have been thinking about leaving The Haunted for almost 6 months now. The reason for my departure is mainly because of personal reasons. I have grown tired of the whole concept of touring. It was never a life I wanted to lead. I have also decided to continue my courses at the university with main focus on the studies. So - I wish the best for The Haunted, and do not worry - a worldwide scan for a new guitarist has already begun. Sincerely: Anders"

In reaction to the Bjšrler's decision, guitar legend Jensen added his remarks: "The Haunted wishes Anders all the best with whatever he pursues in his life after leaving the band, and we would like to at the same time point out that there is absolutely no animosity between any members, past or present. Fans should not fear that The Haunted will somehow succumb to this significate, yet not manageable, setback. We are therefore currently looking for a replacement for Anders. People into the band know what we're looking for, so no further describtion of applicants needed. If you feel you might have what it takes, please get in touch with the band (see "contact" link)."

On a more pleasant note, The Haunted are proud to announce their first headlining tour of North America. The tour is scheduled to take place in November 2001 and will be comprised of 25-30 gigs. Also, another string of Swedish shows are planned to be held in December 2001. This two week tour will focus on the more northern parts of Sweden, but shows in Norway are also being discussed. Session guitarist during these tours will be Mike Wead from MERCYFUL FATE/KING DIAMOND.
