Death's seventh and final album "The Sound of Perseverance" will see its official re-issue on February 15th in North America (February 21 internationally) via Relapse Records. The first in a series of official Death re-issues slated for 2011, "The Sound of Perseverance" has been remastered and expanded to include a second disc of previously unreleased demo material. The re-issue will also include enhanced artwork and liner notes from the original cover artist Travis Smith as well as liner notes from Death guitarist Shannon Hamm and never-before-seen photographs.
Relapse Records has also issued the following announcement about seeking Death stories or photos from fans:
"December 13th marks the ninth anniversary since Death mastermind Chuck Schuldiner passed away due to complications from brain cancer. In tribute to his life and legacy, the Schuldiner family, Perseverance Holdings, Inc., and Relapse Records are asking friends, family, and fans to submit their favorite Death / Chuck Schuldiner stories, drawings, videos, photos, cover songs, etc. to the official Death and Chuck Schuldiner MySpace and Facebook pages. Death and Control Denied prizes will be awarded monthly to those that submit. Complete tribute details can be found via this event page."
