System Of A Down To Return From Hiatus?

Although no official confirmation has been given yet, reports are spreading like wildfire that social rockers System Of A Down will announce tomorrow (November 29th) that they will be returning next year for a series of tour dates and festival performances, including Britain's Download Festival and Sweden's, Metaltown Festival. The only confirmed date so far is a show at the Palais Omnisports in Paris on June 6 but when asked by fans if they would perform at Download, bassist Shavo Odajian responded with, "Stay Tuned." More information on this will be given as soon as it becomes available.
The band decided to go on hiatus in 2006 following their headlining slot at Ozzfest, during which time lead singer Serj Tankian has released two studio albums as well as a live, orchestral album. Guitarist/vocalist Daron Malakian and drummer John Dolmayan also kept busy by releasing an album with their project, Scars On Broadway. Bassist Shavo Odajian has kept himself occupied by directing music videos for the likes of Taproot and hardcore legends Bad Brains, as well as founding the networking website, urSESSION and a musical project with Wu Tang Clan founder RZA named Achozen.

@Canaduh: I wonder if SOAD and Tool would be the big headliners on Mayhem Fest 11' because they'd both bring it tons of money, and people would go. Personally, I'm not a fan of these two bands, but if they headlined, I'd leave before they went on to avoid the traffic back home. I'm hoping Mayhem brings all different genres of metal, instead of last years disappointing Nu-Metal, with Metalcore mix.

@ silvermountains : Agreed on the part they would bring a huge crowd into the festival, I'm not a big fan with Tool and SOAD as I used to be but it would be great to see those bands headline a festival such as Mayhem, I'd love to see more types of genres as well. Personally I would love to see Devildriver be apart of Mayhem ( One can only wish lol)

While not a fan, I will say SOAD did bring a new sound to metal.
