Papa Roach Tells Fans Not To Buy New Greatest-Hits Album

A Papa Roach greatest-hits album is hitting the stores in a few days. But the band is telling fans not to buy it.

Papa Roach posted a statement on its official website June 24 that its former record label, Interscope/Geffen, is releasing "To Be Loved: Best of Papa Roach" without its consent. The quartet is particularly incensed that the album's June 29 release date coincides with the act touring in support of its new album, "Time for Annihilation," which is arriving Aug. 31 through its current label, Eleven Seven Music.

"Since our fans have always stood behind us, we want to let you in on a little behind the scenes bullshit going on with our ex record label," the band writes, claiming that it has made the label a lot of money only to be rewarded with "all the bullshit broken promises that they have fed us time and time again." However, the members make clear that their anger isn't directed "at the staff of people that busted their ass for Papa Roach at that label for years on a ground level . . . It is directed towards the people at the top who make the decisions."

Papa Roach wraps up its current U.S. tour July 1. It then heads to Europe to perform a slate of festival dates through Aug. 15.
