Black Sabbath Settles Name Dispute

Band Photo: Ozzy Osbourne (?)
In a recent interview with the Pulse Of Radio, heavy metal legend Ozzy Osbourne revealed that the lawsuit between himself and Black Sabbath guitarist Tony Iommi has been settled and that the two are now on good terms. When asked about a possible reunion of the four original members, he responded:
"Well, I never say never. I mean, I've got a few ideas, but we'll see what happens, you know. We did try and do another album, but we've all changed so much and it's - if you don't do an album that blows the doors off the last one that we did together, then it's gonna be looked upon as a joke, you know."

Did dio's death help mend this bridge?
I think it had something to do with it, not from a money standpoint but from a life perspective,...or atleast i like to think so...
Prediction, health pending to the band, theyll reunite at the end of the next year, and who knows, maybe rob halfords dream concert will come to fruition, which was sabbath, preist and maiden on the same bill........i like ozzy, but i sided with sabbath on this issue

yeah it seems to me that after dio died it kinda occured to everybody how petty this lawsuit was. Nobody wanted to be that guy who kept this travesty ongoing in the wake of a much more important one, nobody wanted to be the guy who dragged everything dio had done for metal through the f***ing mud. Nice to see some people able to grow the f*** up and end this thing on a light note.

How I feel about the lawsuit being settled, and what motives I ascribe to the sudden settlement now, depends on what the settlement was.
I'd like to take the generous interpretation of Ozzy's motives here (after all, rationally, he probably never expected to outlive Dio either, so I imagine his death was a real wake-up call to his own mortality), --so part of me wants to go with @f***_a_Name's interpretation.
Another part of me is more inclined to be cynical. I think it will become more clear which interpretation is correct once (if?) more details of the settlement are revealed.
And as much criticism as I can (and have!) showered on Ozzy, @sh**_my_pants does have a good point. Simply pulling up out of the addiction rock-bottom is itself a feat worthy of respect, regardless of what else he's done the past 30 years.

while I love the Osbourne era Sabbath albums, I hope they wont do another album together. Ozzy's a joke these days. He's just nothing short of braindead.
It's better to leave a good thing alone and not to ruin the Sabbath catalog with a second rate release, which is exactly what a new reunion album would turn out to be now, no question about it.

I have no idea why people get worked up like rabid dogs at the mention of Ozzy these days. What, did Sharon come up and personally steal money from you or something? Build a bridge.
Back on music, I'd love to see Iommi push himself to put out his darkest material on an album with Ozzy. Glad the dispute is settled.

Cynic - I'm pretty sure they would man.
It's all about greed with the Osbournes.
Not judging them ,I happen to love Ozzy's music but.
They are on the Richlist in England and possibily the US.
The more money they have the more they can do with it.
Does anyone think that the Queen or George Bush really wanted to meet Ozzy Osbourne?
The only reason he got there was because he had money.
Well I believe thats the only reason.
Nothing wrong with money I guess, I just hate it that they are talking about this so soon after Dio's death.
Another coin in the bag , sounds like it to me.

Iommi and Ozzy are equals as far as I'm concerned. Neither one would have been anything without the other. That said, Iommi was the organizer, and had to deal with a drunk for years, so I'm sure he got tired of it. These are the rock n roll breaks though. Singers like Ozzy don't grow on trees. Neither do riffmasters like Iommi. I dont know who wrote Sabbath's lyrics, but they deserve props as well, and of course the rhthym section. I saw Sabbath in 99. The first three songs I was kind of worried, then they lined up together, and it was sublime, spine-chilling and a time machine all at the same time. It was god. I would love to see that again, although they may be too old now. Either way get on it, before someone croaks. Another album, sure, I'll buy it.
