Black Sabbath Guitarist Tony Iommi Speaks On Ronnie Dio's Passing

Black Sabbath/Heaven & Hell guitarist Tony Iommi has posted a message online regarding the death of his bandmate Ronnie James Dio, who passed away yesterday morning in Los Angeles from stomach cancer. Iommi's message reads as follows:
"Yesterday 16th May my dear, dear friend Ronnie James Dio passed away at 7.45am LA time. I’ve been in total shock I just can’t believe he’s gone. Ronnie was one of the nicest people you could ever meet, we had some fantastic times together. Ronnie loved what he did, making music and performing on stage. He loved his fans so much. He was a kind man and would put himself out to help others. I can honestly say it’s truly been an honor to play at his side for all these years, his music will live on forever. Our thoughts are with Wendy Dio who stood by Ronnie until the end, he loved her very much. The man with the magic voice is a star amongst stars, a true professional. I’ll miss you so much my dear friend."

Ronnie James Dio is the best Heavy Metal vocalist to ever walk this planet-period! Sabbath's Heaven and Hell album IS THE finest album EVER in the Metal Genre.
Ronnie's voice was so deep, magical and full of power thay it would both scare and enchant me. I remember (actually still do) playing Rainbow in the Dark, Last is Line and Neon Knights over and over and over again...!
Thank you Ronnie. Thank you for giving me a friend when alone in this world ... Thanks for being that voice in my head that kept me company and made me feel alive and part of something when times were rough.
Ronnie James Dio will always reign...!

Ronnie was the only...let me say again...the only Metal/Rock singer with a true "singers" voice. No one compares! You should listen to a tune entitled..Children Of The Sea! What a singer should truly be! Dio was the best...and probably always will be the best! I love you Ronnie...rest in peace! What a shock!!!

Ronni James DIO has incrediable Vocal power range: one of the earliest trailblazer's Vocalist/Musician that ever hit the stage and is a Icon-foundation Music Artist of all time. DIO shined in every music aspect he'd give his ultimate "all/music gifts" to: Rainbow, Black Sabbath, Heaven & Hell and his own band DIO in which all are Master legendary bands!!! There will never be no-one like him: so beautiful what legendary Musician/Guitarist Tony IOMMI said about his bandmate/RJD working w/him for many yrs "The man with the voice is a star amongst Stars/a true Professional" ...'nicely said.
