Killswitch Engage Cancels Tonight's Tour Date In Tuscon

Killswitch Engage, who recently announced they would continue their tour with fill-in vocalist Phil Labonte from All That Remains, has issued the following update about canceling tonight's show in Tuscon:

"Killswitch Engage will have no choice but to cancel their upcoming performance in Tucson, Arizona on Thursday, March 4, 2010. Fill in vocalist Phil Labonte of All That Remains will absolutely need this day to rest and recover his voice from what has been a very grueling three week touring schedule in which he has been asked to perform a wealth of new material. With another three weeks of touring still to go, the band realizes that it’s crucial for Phil to get this much needed day off so that he can be at full capacity the rest of the way.

"Labonte is pinch-hitting, so to speak, for KsE’s Howard Jones, who had to leave the tour to attend to personal matters. The band wants to thank their fans in Tucson for their understanding in this matter and wants to assure them that they will make every effort to get back into Tucson as soon as possible."

I understand completely, but then I had no intention of going in the first place. Personal matters can also be attending to your health guys. I realize Phil's pulling double duty, but I have to wonder if the problem is in singing the Jesse era songs. They are SO bad for your throat if you don't scream correctly and often when you scream correctly it doesn't sound right because Jesse didn't scream correctly.

Every time I saw KsE, they sounded even better than on the CD, and their energy together is amazing. ATR not so much. Last time I saw Phil play, he was pretty drunk and couldn't - er, perform so well. ;)

I used to live in NJ and go to Starland Ballroom, now in Orlando - where the hell do you get your metal fix???

I was at the Killswitch Engage concert a couple of hours ago. And guess what... Jesse showed up! That's right the man himself sang all of his old songs. And for their Encore they had Old School KSE with Adam on drums and Jesse as the vocalist... Although the best moment was when Phill switched back to do their newer stuff and finished off the song with Jesse... It was AMAZING

Yeah, well they pretty much said so on Metalsucks like 2 months ago, so I wasn't surprised. Whereas he just showed up when they switched songs and the most common reaction was "OMFG that's Jesse" and then I started a "Jesse" chant which was EPIC XD. I love NY ;-)
