AXL ROSE clarifies the situation:
""Im still a whiny a$$ b!tch who throws tantrums when I do not get my way. I have wasted millions of dollars and put out mediocre music after I imploded what was a good band. I want to let Slash know im still jealous that hes a great guitarist and Im a glam rock reject. I have come to terms with my delusional mind-set and want everyone to know that I will NOT change for anyone!!!!!!""

Gotta love internet toughguys and haters. Just what have you clowns contributed to music history? Saw the band in Canada and they were great. And they have a sold out show in Argentina this month for 65,000 fans. Sold out show in Brazil got moved to a larger venue (sure that's only one show out of 5 but they're playing to huge crowds down there). Axl was extremely genuine here in Toronto and talked about how much they wanted to come out and tour Canada... I find it amusing that really, Europe, Australia, Canada, Mexico, and South America all still love the band, but the US can't seem to get over "ooh Axl was mean to a reporter once in 1991 and canceled a few shows/started a few riots"
It's like your country as a whole forgot what rock n' roll was - sleaze, excess, and danger.

It goes beyond Axl being rude to a reporter in 1991, and its very biased to label the US being the only country who pushes negative comments towards the front man. There is an equal amount of insults towards him from all over the globe.
Most of the hatred towards him stems from his immense ego which drove one of the greatest rock bands into the ground. It was Axl who wanted to take Guns into a more theatrical direction and away from the gritty sound they had been known for. The recording sessions for Use Your Illusions got so bad to the point where Slash wouldn't even show up to the same studio as Axl. He would spend months working out arrangements with orchestras and other song writers to perfect what he called his "epic masterpiece" of a double album.
His attitude on the road was almost worse, as many bands that toured with him labeled the man a diva. He had very eccentric demands and would cancel a show at the flip of a switch if even the slightest thing bothered him. This is actually one of the biggest reasons fans feel betrayed by him. A large amount of people payed a hell of a lot of money to see them, and were basically sh** out of luck all because Axl was unhappy.
He was without question a very talented front man, and made some amazing music in his time. However that can all easily be shadowed by his selfish ego which has consistently caused friction with band mates and fans alike for over two decades.
It doesn't take a specific type of society or country to determine if a man is behaving like a jerk. Theres plenty of heavy bands who have the sleaze, excess, and danger elements, but they know how to balance that so creating and playing music as one group comes first. Not thinking of yourself all the time and burning through band members like cigarette butts.

Agreed. Even if this new Gn'R were any good- and I actually bought Chinese Democracy, completely sucked- I wouldn't want to see them simply on principle. Axl, though a great frontman, one of the best, single-handedly destroyed an amazing band, one of the greats.

Axl single handed destroyed the band? Truth is all members except Axl were so f**ked up on drugs that they had to cancel shows..(and Axl getting the blame) and Slash only wanting to play blues rock.. He actually presented Slashes Snakepit for the band as the new guns record!! Problem is Axl did never speak his cause and got all the blame for the problems of the old guns. Yes he is a mediashy and a controlfreak, but all the bullsh** above is lies!

the thing about working with a f***ing megalomaniacal goon...is that it makes everyone involved feel and look fvcking crazy also...these prima donna types create chaos around themselves...for a brat, ANY attention is better than none
after awhile it gets old, people begin to drift away, sick of hearing a wash up crying 'wolf' all fvcking day long...
yes totz, ol' billy bailey is solely responsible for turning one of the most revolutionary bands in hard music history into a tabloid carnival junk show
