pardon my ignorance but what's the big deal with him? he was in maiden *30* years ago! i mean, evidently he hasn't done anything worth caring about seeing as how he's still referred to as 'former iron maiden vocalist'.

just wondering.

I have his solo album, "The Living Dead" and it's fantastic. I'd love to see him perform. His bands after Maiden (Battlezone, Killers and Di'anno) are worth checking out too. It's not that he's a has-been, it's that he's best known for his role in Maiden. Same goes for Blaze Bayley. Most of his solo albums have been fantastic but people will know him best for his role in Maiden. Also, suppose someone wants to know what either of these guys are upto, they could put "Iron Maiden Paul Di'anno" into Google, be linked to here and find out for themselves.

I deliberately left that one to you Oz because I knew you'd put it down like it needed to be said when you weighed in on it. I personally think Di'anno's post Maiden work was his best.

Why Do people care about Paul Di'anno? Answer: Because he was one of the most important singers of the 80's and left a huge impact and legacy on almost all aspects of metal and crossover.... I just interviewed him in chicago guys stay tune for the interview. I think he is solely responsible for integrating punk into metal (with his voice)

ok no need to get all fussy, it was an honest question. i've listened to metal for 25 years and have never had Di'anno resurface for me after maiden (i think the spectrum is wide enough in metal to not cross paths, or stay on paths, with everyone in it). so thank you Oz, its good to know he continued to move fwd musically and didn't become a has-been.
