Former Megadeth Bassist David Ellefson Rejoins The Band

Megadeth has announced that co-founder and former bass player David "Junior" Ellefson has returned to the band as a full time member. This reunion is appropriately timed to Megadeth’s upcoming historic month-long Rust In Peace 20th anniversary tour which launches March 1 in Spokane, WA. Ellefson and band leader Dave Mustaine were feuding for a small period after the band's breakup in 2002 and attempted to sue one another, as a result of which, Ellefson was not a part of the band when Mustaine revived the Megadeth name in 2004.
"This shows the power of brotherly love and forgiveness," Mustaine says. "David Ellefson belongs in Megadeth. Next we are going to show you the power of getting your asses kicked...HARD!
"We'd like to thank James LoMenzo for several years of loyal service on the bass, and wish him the very best." Mustaine adds.
David Ellefson concurs: "This is a huge moment for all of us, band and fans alike. It is a great celebration of the music from one of the biggest landmark albums of our career."

YYEEEEEEESSS! So great to have D.E. back in the group. Nothing against James Lomenzo, but Ellefson will always be THE Megadeth bassist. Now I REALLY have to catch this show. I wish the best for James and I know he'll hook up with someone else down the road. STAY METAL MY FRIENDS!

SWEET! Rust In Peace is the best Megadeth album and now with Ellefson back the shows will be even better. I've seen MD 3 times but I was too young to go to concerts when RIP came out so I'm def. looking to catch this tour.
and I guess it's back to White Lion for Lomenzo...from playing Peace Sells to When The Children Cry..bummer, jk White Lion rocked ;)

I wonder if Elefson will be allowed to call himself a member of Megadeth now? Cumstain leveraged a lawsuit against him when he left forbidding him to ever use the name of the band in association with himself. Good to see him back in the fold though because he was always the backbone of Megadeth.

Mustaine is a pr!ck and Ellefson obviously went back with his tail between his legs. It's good that he's back, but it also sucks because LoMenzo got screwed. He's so gracious about this, and admits that this will be good for the "Rust in Peace" tour. I wish nothing but the best for J-Lo, he's a class-act!
