Guitarist Corey Beaulieu of the metal band Trivium has issued the following update:

"Hey everyone just a quick update. Shattering the skies above is complete and Mark Lewis begins mixing shattering and our cover we did of Sepultura's slave new world tomorrow! We are all super stoked on how the song turned out. Be the first trivium song we have ever done that Matt, Paolo and myself did vocals on, we really wanted to do the song the way we will play it live and it really brings out a new dynamic that we have never had before and we are really stoked that we finally got to give it a shot. Hopefully in the next few weeks we can get the song up for everyone to check out. Everyone that has asked yes we will be playing Shattering the skies above at all our upcoming tour dates!"

Well, it's going to be released on its own, not their next album. So for some of us, it actually is semi-exciting news.

Their 3rd album was a disaster and a James Hetfield impersonation but the last album has some really good songs on it and its more like Ascendancy which is definitely a good thing. They killed it live at the Crazy Donkey.

trivium is awesome live. i've seen them 3x's alrdy and they nvr fail to impress. i've loved all of their albums, except for ember, kuz it's too metalcore'ish and plus it's rlly bad quality imo. ascendancy is by far the best album, and i rlly liked the crusade, more than shogun. that whole metallica impersonating bullsh** is getting rlly annoying. there's ALOTTA bands that sound like the bands that influenced them, get the f*** over it alrdy. on more thing, ::old man from jackie chan adventure's voice:: if u don't like a band, then don't post stupid bashing bullsh** on the articles posted here on MU. go read something u actually do like.

Trivium is f***ing awesome, this hole "James Hetfield impersonation" sh** is just boring, and untrue. I also don't get why this band has a rep for sounding bad live. I've personally seen them headline once, and support three times, once was like 4 years ago before they kind of hit it big. They're f***ing awesome live. But whats going on drummer wise is all I wanna know...

Trivium is straight up new-era American thrash metal, and they do it f***ing well.

^^^ 80% agree only kuz i don't agree with that "new-era american thrash metal" remark, but that's just me, even tho i know alotta ppl here would agree with me. i just find it more humorous that ur name's decapitation and ur icon's cannibal corpse and yet u even like trivium nonetheless think that they're "f***ing awesome" lol not that i'm complaiming, i love them too, but still, not vry typical here at MU.
