Dont sweat it dude.
I'm 34 have short hair and have a shirt and tie job.
Been a metal head since I was 12.
I stopped going to concerts a LONG time ago.
Last concert I went to was Obituary on the "Back From The Dead Tour"
Man, was that a let down.
The show took place right after John Tardy left the band and they had the singer from Pyrexia filling in.
The whole crowd was just standing there like.......you've got to be kidding.
Anyway, LOL I don't really fit in with the crowd anymore so if there is a band I just HAVE to see live, I'll wait for DVD.
Or watch youtube, most bands are on there with live performances anyway.
The only concerts I will always remember was The Clash of the Titans tour. (Slayer, Megadeth, Anthrax, Alice In Chains).
And Morbid Angel......I think Cynic opened.
Otherwise......not a huge deal if you can't make it. :)

Get some money, rent a car if you don't have one available, and just go. I might not make it to the mayhemfest due to financial situations. The only bands I will be there for is Slayer, Cannibal Corpse, Behemoth, and just check out Marilyn Manson. I have seen Slayer, Corpse, and Behemoth before though.

I had to drive for 3 hours to get to the sacramento stop and it was well worth it. f***ing amazing. Behemoth destroys live and cannibal did not dissapoint, I even got to see someone get knocked out in the pit during cannibal. And Slayer was amazing live. If you can make it, go to mayhem tour

Pinto_beans,
I went to Mayhem last year and I am going again this year. None of my friends are metal fans so I will get myself on a Greyhound bus and make the almost 3 hour trip alone.you can usually get good bus fares online so if you really want to attend some concerts don't let anyone stop you! Good luck.

Okay so I just got back from Mayhem in Auburn...really wish I had seen this stage time update thread before. When we got there we were all handed flyers with all the stage time and it said Cannibal was playing after Bullet. We caught one song of Bullet and decided that beer and then Cannibal was clearly much more important than these bleeding vaginas. So we grab a beer and head over to see Cannibal...and all the stages were shut down and they had already finished playing. Talk about bullsh**! And half way through Mansons set he went to grab a guitar and I'm assuming there was technical difficulties or something because he stormed off stage and didn't come back or say anything. The lights came on and that was it! I was p***ed! The stage times for mayhem were all wrong, they were all off by at least 20 minutes. It could have just been Auburn...but man was this a poorly run event. The bands were great though. Behemoth was amazing!!! Killswitch put on a great show too...and obviously Slayer didn't disappoint.

And the depressing thing is, I won't be able to go. Since I'm at it I want to ask something to everyone here: how do you guys make it to these concerts??? As usual I live in a small city where hardly any bands come through. In order for me to see any of the big time bands, my only option is to travel. My biggest problem though is that I can NEVER, no matter how hard I try, find a way to make it to another city. The problem with me could be that I lack metal-loving friends, but I can see that a lot of users here on this site have made it to their goals to attend these concerts somehow. I guess I'm just simply asking, what are the methods that a lot of you guys have done to show up to these things? (I'm sorry if there are obvious answers. Its just that I have to vent about this since throughout my life I've hardly ever attended concerts or shows, and the Mayhem Festival has been one right now that I'm DYING to go see. But there are always obstacles that prevent me: friends, my mother, not performing in my town, etc.)
