Just listened to it all the way through, nothing jaw dropping--it's more of the same but the same is damn good!

Rougher sound than the last two records, though not as rough as Palaces...My wallets going to get hurt between owing on taxes, car insurance payment and new music...

f***.

I agree with RememberMetal. For me it's a damn good buffet of songs with a few that hit me just right. So far I can't get enough of "Broken Hands" and "Reclamation". What really gets to me though is the opener. A small instrumental piece called "The Passing". Might not do the same for anyone else but the chord structure seems to portray a sense of loss or longing that seems almost tangible. Eh, I just latch onto certain combinations of sound more than others I guess. Plus a few beers always make me philosophical. All in all though, I like it.

i've had a leaked version for like 3 weeks and it's great, i'll definately buy a copy when it comes out. Dead Seeds is probably my favorite track and i'm digging the solo's in all the songs. the intro does give off an eerie type of feel which fits in well.

Heard all the tunes. I expected a reeeally raw album, sorta like New American Gospel, but this doesn't dissapoint. It sounds like a cross between Sacrament and AOTW. Mark Morton shreds like a f***in' beast and the drumming is nothing short of f***in' phenomenal . Fav. tracks : Broken Hands, Grace, Everything to Nothing (Randy sounds like Corpsegrinder in the verses, really cool) and of course, Reclamation.

The originally posted track (Contractor) doesn't do the album justice. LoG just gets better each album. Randy is showing more of his vocal abilities and creating more interesting and melodic vocal lines. As Melissa Cross says "pitch the scream." I can tell that Randy is listening :).

I haven't listened to the album all the way through yet, but what I have heard I really like. Lamb of God is just one of those fun groove metal bands to head bang too. I was worried about this album but they came through. There are surely other albums I'm awaiting much more so. The new Mastodon and Isis albums are hopefully going to be something very special.

After the initial listen to this album i would have to say i like it better than sacrament. Not by a lot but just a little. It seems to be a mix between sacrament and ashes like stated above. I'm glad some of the studio enhanced vocals are not present like in sacrament. Definitely a good step forward/back to getting to some more raw music like palaces. Hope they continue to get more raw and back to their basics from palaces.

1. Ashes of the Wake
2. Wrath
3. As The Palaces Burn
4. Burn The Priest (I loved this sh**)
5. Sacraments

7. New American Gospel

I'll give certain songs on other albums the thumbs up on good technical drumming, but this album didnt impress me drumwise in the least.

The guitar-work though...surprised is the least of the words I could use to describe it...

Choke Sermon is on par with Ruin in terms of extremely solid heavy song. Instead of a breakdown though, it has a solo. win/win.

Contractor reminds me of both the song vigil and As the palaces burn. Listen to certain song structure points in the song, and you'll see what i mean. Still good though either depite or because of this, and I hope the song becomes a live staple; it would fit perfectly to get a crowd going really nuts, really fast, imo anyway.

Reclamation is what would happen if Hourglass and Omerta had a secret lovechild, and then made it angrier than both of them combined anyway. Awesome track. Somehow managed to keep my attention the entire 7 minutes, and I cant stand songs longer than 4 usually.

Grace is hands down the best song on the album. Melodic opening, followed by a song I've never thought could be pulled off by Lamb of God. Heavy, technical, and melodious throughout, and once again, another showcase of the fact that they suddenly REEALLY like solos for some reason. At the very least, it's my favorite. Gets put right on the playlist with 11th hour and Blood of the Scribe.

Now Playing: Marilyn Manson- Little Horn (revisiting my Antichrist superstar album I just dug up from my middle school years. :P )

Going WAY back now - Netromancer, post 2 - I love when an album has an opener... and sometimes a closer too. For me, it makes the whole thing more complete. It's like a story. The opener is the first paragraph, not really part of the story, but gives it a little intrigue, a little background, a little context, a little mystery. That is a great thing. Closers I'm less picky on, I don't mind too much if an album has one or not - they're more like the epilogue. This is how things became after the end. Without them you still have the end. It can be a nice touch, but not necessary. But openers, I love em.

Which is a long way of sayin 'I feel ya bro' lol.

I felt the same way about Sacrament...I was pretty let down when it released but after weeks and then months I really warmed up to that album.
I go into LOG albums thinking I'll like it right away, where as some of my favorite albums take awhile to fully digest. Sacrament, quite unexpectedly, was one of those. I love "Walk With me in Hell", "Rise" and "Blacken the Cursed Sun".....never could get into "Redneck" though.

as for the drums, all drummers change it up a bit every album, but he could have done better. not saying he sucks a$$ on this one, not at all, just could have done better.

And yeah, "Ruin" (high and low varied vocal dynamic!) "Vigil" and I'll add "For Your Malice" to the list are perfect as they are.

You have a great weekend Wiggles. Listen to great metal tracks for me. I am going to pick up LOG and God Forbid next week. I am still rockin' out to Sepultura's A-Lex - extremely underrated, but very special to me. Anyone dig, Cult of Luna? The new album is spectacular, but not like spider-man..lol.

I knew I was forgetting to mention something about this album everytime I descirbed it; BASS!

As far as I can tell, John has stepped it up a notch on this album. If anything, he just asked to let his sound bleed through a bit more on this album, instead of getting buried by the drums and guitars.

Before, the only songs I noticed the bass on were Vigil and Hourglass. Now, it's every other song on Wrath.

He certaintly gets an honorable nod for his contributions to Reclamation and Contractor, the bass lines to those songs are smile-wrenching...

Myself...started out as a bass player, then a vocalist, then gee-tar. Workin on drums when possible, but it's difficult, seeing as how I dont have a drumset...lol

Randy's vox on Ashes, along with Dez's (Devildriver) on Fury, and just general behemoth growling, are my baseline for vocals. Without singing along to those songs when I was alone at home, I wouldnt be the singer that I am today. then again, now I have to buy a new mike because my old one couldnt handle the same things my voice could haha. Damn you Randy, and your super-sing along Sacrament album. lol

Now Playing: Genghis Tron- Laser b****
