I guess what I was trying to get across was the fact that you seemed to attribute the music to how attractive the singer is. Maybe the gay thing was a joke, but I just don't see how the logic behind that stands. I don't listen to Lacuna Coil, Beyonce, Evanescence, Rihanna, Taylor Swift, etc. I couldnt care less what the singer looks like as long as the music was good. If I wanted to watch a hot chick writhe around on a floor I'll watch porn, not a music video. Not trying to argue here, I just don't see how music appreciation applies to whether anyone likes women or not.

Hey i understand...i listen to Sara Evans for 3 reasons, i like her looks, she is a good singer with some pretty down to earth songs, and i think she is good looking.
But with that said, if she was an ugly bag i would have a very hard time getting through any video no matter how good the song was if she didnt at least have some visually pleasing qualities.
My daughter listens to Dokken and Sugarland, so imagine me in the car having to listen to Sugarland cause my 7 yr old daughter wants it on....lol....

No worries, bro. I don't watch too many videos, honestly. The ones I prefer are either live recordings or studio tracks to a live performance. I feel the same about driving anywhere with my neice and being forced to listen to Avenged Sevenfold and Bullet for my Valentine. She still surprises me with the occasional 80's thrash band though, god love her :)
I guess I just hear about how great some female fronted bands are then when hearing them I realize they are mediocre or sub-par to and getting by on the looks of the singer. I tend to be suspicious especially of music from this genre as it seems lately this is where I usually find said bands. Not to say they are all bad, but lately the media seems to be especially accomodating to hot female singers despite their talent.
