Horse The Band Set To Record Album In March

Band Photo: Horse The Band (?)
Los Angeles "Nintencore" act Horse The Band will be recording a new album in March. The band issued the following year end update:
Hello. Go and make yourself a cup of hot cocoa and get a mild inhalant from the garage. Do your little set up. Put on sweat pants.
We're about to sign to a new label! A real one. Soon. I think it is a good home for us. It has other bands that we like and a super-legit history of other bands that we LOVE. Can you guess it? Dash left but we already talked about that :_( We are doing experiments in our practice space with amplifiers and keyboards. For now Brian from Thriller is going to do Soundwave with us on bass. After that we'll see. If you play bass feel free to email us. But we're not really "looking" right now.
For the first time in like 7 years me, David, and Nathan all live 5 minutes away from each other again, so we're seeing each other a lot and sharing all our ideas like we used to back in the demo days. And we're writing a new album right now! I think it's going to turn out really good cause when we see each other we have been becoming a hive consciousness. So weird when it happens, we are just sitting there actually it's totally insane! Being a hive. I mean. It's like ants do that. And bees. So weird you guys. We're supposed to record it in March and release it worldwide in late May/early June. Here is the most insane part, I emailed Jamie Stewart from Xiu Xiu and it looks like (not for sure yet) he is going to be producing.
The album is supposedly going to be kinda devastating new wavy with blue collar 80s movie soundtracks hovering close to mind, with some more fucked-sounding blurbly game boy than previous outings, lots of oberheim, lots of synth brass, lots of spazz and fast, wrenching, a bit more light-hearted yet at times completely sickening, and concentrating on melody and having every riff on the album be able to stand on its own. We also hope to use Jamie to his full potential in terms of finding really amazing tones and sounds and percussion and sound manipulation, and getting a really clear, honest sounds. We're going to record live and we're going to record to tape. It should be really neat.
DESCRIPTIVE WORDS ABOUT OUR NEW ALBUM:
Grotesque, desperate, filthy, deranged, manic, sparkling, golden, nostalgic, intrigue, desire, aching, noir, unsettling, base, jubilant, night music.
DO NOT SAY ANY OF THOSE WORDS UNTIL THE ALBUM COMES OUT
Ok, so also. Remember EARTH TOUR? We brought a photographer and a videographer?
We just got all the photos from Sarah. Edited and sorted. Haha you guys it's so many photos. 3 months worth, like, 3-400 some days. So! We are going to make some sort of online tour journal with all these amazing beautiful photos. And commentary from band members, stories, all that kind of stuff. We are just getting started on that, it's going to be really cool. We also want to do a photo book but it's a pretty expensive endeavor. In the end we want them to be affordable but not a piece of crap. If anyone knows of any way we could get some sort of deal to print books at cost out of the goodness of someone's heart, or is interested in sponsoring the book, let us know, cause really want to make a photo book. I can't even describe how cool it would be. But! Either way, be on the lookout for a really nice online journal, coming soon, with photos from every exotic location you can think of. Pictures of kids at shows there, street scenes, us being ourselves, us being tired, us being drunk, weird animals, food. HAha. Food. Had to end that at the end, in case you weren't already sold. Check out Sarah's photos: http://lebeastsphotos.carbonmade.com/
And hire her if you live in Vancouver, she's incredible.
AND! Our videographer, Gary LaChance (he did our video for A Million Exploding Suns) just started working 6 hours a day on the EARTH TOUR DVD. He wears Ed Edge's suit while he edits the footage. And he has been having seances with his dead grandfather because he started seeing an osteopathic healer. So Gary is pretty much an auxiliary member of the band. This thing is going to be a double-DVD monster. We're going to do one Live DVD of edited footage from all the best shows, with a track for each song we played on the tour. And the second DVD, which will probably be a double layer cause there's so much shit is going to be the story of the whole tour and everything you would expect/not expect to happen to us, kind of like our old DVD but we're older, with more experienced livers, a bad attitude, and sexier bone structure that comes with age. When that comes out you will know about it.
Annnnnd we weren't joking about that reality TV show. We signed a deal with a production company that's a division of Hearst Entertainment. Basically RIGHT NOW a top Hollywood editor guy is going through all our footage from the tour (like 120 hours, that's 15 8 hour working days non-stop just to watch it hahahaha he must hate us so much) and other crazy shit from over the years and making a "sizzle reel". In January that reel will go to meetings with almost every network on television. And they watch it and decide if they want to buy the show or not. So, it's not for sure. But it's possible. Hahahaha. The cool thing is if we get on TV it will make us go even crazier. I don't know what that means but I know it is true.
OK OK OKOKOKOK
AND AND
So, we should know really soon our exact recording dates. If we have enough time we're going to do a South American tour in April after we record. It looks like we'll be back in Europe starting May 8th for all your early summer festivals, and we're going to play a lot of shows in Russia and Ukraine again and visit some other crazy Eastern European places we haven't been. Hopefully culminating in Kazantip hahahahaahaah. Summer hopefully will be Warped Tour in the US. Then I don't know. But back to Europe in November!!!!
I probably forgot a lot of stuff. It's ok
