Trivium has issued the following update regarding progress on their latest album and new tour dates:

"We've completed the new album and the music has been delivered to Roadrunner Records and is in the process of being mixed. We're expecting a late September 2008 release. Needless to say we are proud of what we have created and look forward to your reactions when you have a chance to listen to and digest the new music.

"We've got some updated show information for our Japanese friends. In addition to the Tokyo and Osaka installments of the Summer Sonic festivals we've planned a Trivium headline show in Tokyo at Shibuya O-East on August 7th. Tickets are expected to be available July 5th so keep an eye on the Official Trivium Portal and check out the official sites for additional information in the coming weeks.

"As added incentive to get your tickets early we thought we'd mention that our friends in Japan and Australia will be the first to check out a few of the new songs live. We can hardly wait to jam the new music live!! It will be a good time for all of us. So we'll see you in August at the following shows:

August 7 in Tokyo @ Shibuya O- East
August 9 in Tokyo @ the Summersonic Festival
August 10 in Osaka @ the Summersonic Festival
August 13 in Sydney @ Enmore Theater

Trivium World has updated Virtual Ticket with photos from this past weekend's show with Iron Maiden at the PNC Arts Centre in New Jersey. Also Trivium World members can expect exclusive video messages and updates from the band as Trivium ramps up and prepares for world-wide touring.

All Trivium World members will have the ability to sign up for Members-Only Meet and Greets. Meet and greets are available not only for the Japan and Australian shows this August, but also for the Unholy Alliance Chapter III tour which kick off this October in the UK.

As previously reported, Trivium announced that they will be releasing their fourth album this year on September 30th. Although no official word has been given yet on the name of the album, it is rumoured to be called "Shogun."

post 6...first...they were too metalcore...now, they're too Metallica...maybe these guys will never be good enough...but at least stop saying they are too...something, for once, let them be they're own band....even if they are really bad...

Agreed, they sound Way too much like Metallica Master Of Puppets era. But, one thing they can do is play. The guitar stuff is brilliant. If they could just find their own style...

Post 7, I didn't have a problem with the metalcore stuff, I may not have liked it but thats not the point. My problem with this band is The Crusade.

My biggest problem is that these guys really are talented, but they don't know how to use that talent to create their own sound. Their sound is a really talented, but not as good copy of all of their influences. I just hope that their new record sounds better than crusade, because I made the mistake of buying that, and I was so disapointed with it.

This band's heart is in the right place (an obvious love of Metallica, Megadeth and Machinehead) the vocal and lyrical execution just murders them though. Good gateway band imho--better than Korn or A7X anyway.

The lyrics to "To the Rats" are so funny I can hardly believe the conviction with which they are sung.

Whatever floats your boat Cate.

I gave "The Crusade" a fairly positive review when it came out not so much because I like them (many of the vocals and lyrics make me flinch) but I knew I would have loved them when I was trying to get into metal.
Noteworthy guitar work and strong drumming...1/3 of this site would be fans if these guys were strictly instrumental. I started with Metallica and Megadeth but those bands are getting pretty old now and alot of kids want to listen to bands who are more in their generation.
