Deftones Bassist Speaks On New Album

Band Photo: Deftones (?)
Deftones bassist Chi Cheng has recently posted his thoughts regarding the new songs being recorded for the next Deftones album, tentatively titled "Eros."
He states: "We've been locked into the studio, as you know, and are finishing the drum tracks on a song tentatively called 'Trempest'. It's heavy as fuck with a shitload of groove 'n even though it's been driving me crazy as it runs through my insomniatic brain, I am really excited! I always say this shit, but I truly believe this album to be well worth the wait and appreciate all your support and kind loyalty. The idea of finishing the album and getting out to play in front of y'all is a nice light at the end of my tunnel. We intend to tour extensively so don't fret."

Well, personally, I'd really dig another album resembling the emotions of White Pony or the energy of Minerva (not that Adrenaline or Around the Fur don't count as progression is everything).
To me, everything they've released other than Saturday Night Wrist is 100% good sh**, and the B-Sides Rarities also sucked a$$ (probably due to Chino being off his tits)...
Will definitely be picking this new one up though...

Steph has been playing on 8 strings like Meshuggah, so I am assuming that it really does sound heavy as the brown note.
Personally, I liked White Pony and Minerva for how atmospheric it was.
I've not been a fan of Chino since he whimped out of performing in Minneapolis at the Sanitarium tour because he pulled his groin.
