VELVET REVOLVER frontman Scott Weiland was a no-show for the band's scheduled performance last night (Sunday, January 20) at the 944 Magazine's party at Tao during the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah. According to PageSix.com, "speculation from inside the band's camp said the singer had missed his flight to Sundance for the performance, but that didn't stop his bandmates from literally asking the crowd if they wanted to have a go."

"It's was crazy, they were inviting anyone who wanted to get up sing," an onlooker told PageSix.com.

A short clip of VELVET REVOLVER/ex-GUNS N' ROSES drummer Matt Sorum taking on the vocal duties for VELVET REVOLVER's rendition of the GN'R classic "Patience" during the Tao concert can be viewed below.

Weiland was expected to appear in a Los Angeles courtroom last Thursday (January 17), where his recent DUI case was to be continued. The singer was charged with driving under the influence of drugs after being pulled over by police in late November.

VELVET REVOLVER will begin a new U.S. tour on January 24 in Chicago, with dates confirmed through February 9.

I was in Park City yesterday and there was some guy handing out fliers for that show. They wanted $150 "donation" for some sh^t. Glad I'm not rich and didn't go to the show to see some stoned out hippie sing instead of Weiland.

That would make me angry too Westfallen. Atleast it was a missed flight and not pure unresponsibility that cased Scott a no show. However, I am pretty sure it was nice for the people who did sing to have a little rock star moment. If I were in their shoes and sang I would midigate my monitary losses and be fine with that.

Probably a priceless once-in-a-lifetime thing for whoever sang, but to the rest of us, this is just more proof of why Scott Weiland should be euthanised as soon as possible. How can you be in a band with these guys, you know, they played with king diva Axl Rose, and still find a way to be f***ing unnecessarily dumb-assed over-the-top. It takes a special breed of loser to top Axl. I'm not saying he IS topping Axl, but he's on his way.

Unfortunately I was dumb enough to pay $150 for those tickets. We stood in a crowd outside of the biggest dump in Park City for over 2 hours. After watching no brain idiots who perform security at the venue slap wristbands on their friends and shuffle them in first we were finally allowed in. Security said that they didn't know they had sold tickets to the show. I felt horrible for the band who tried to make the best of the situation, but honestly when they pulled some stupid blonde girl with no singing capability at all, up to sing, that is where I drew the line. We left! Slash is always a draw, he is GREAT!!! But Weiland has the class of a c***roach. The buzz throughout the crowd was that he actually was in Park City but no one knew where he was.

Hm... My thoughts may have been a tad to soon. I think that I shall wait until all is revealed. If he did just flake out then I think he is a d***, but if he just simply missed his flight because of unforseeable circumstance than thats another thing. Kuddos to the band for atleast trying to make the glass half full that night.

I was there too. The security apes were brainless. They were so F***** stupid that they could not figure how to get people in the door afther they spent $300 a pair for tickets! Harry O's had oversold the place by about 150 people and it was just lucky that the fire marshall looked the other way. Slash was cool. The band sang all covers and three or four guns and roses songs. Both Sorum and McKagen sang and some other roadies filled in. Lil Jon was on stage but did not sing. Finally the singer for the Gin Blossems stepped up and sang a song but left after one. They cut the show a little short and let Paris Hilton prance around the stage. All in all it was fun but Weiland should not have been passed out in the tour bus......he should step up. other wise he will become Axel Jr.
