Hatebreed Frontman Speaks On Roadrunner Split

HATEBREED frontman Jamey Jasta recently spoke to Revolver magazine about the group's split with Roadrunner Records, the company that released HATEBREED's latest CD, 2006's "Supremacy". "They had a bunch of people on their label, and we felt we didn't get the publicity push that we deserved for our last record," he said. "We realized we need to go to a place where we can be the big fish in the small pond. But ultimately there're no hard feelings; the split was good on both sides."

Asked if HATEBREED is actively looking for a label, Jasta replied, "Well, first we're gonna do a separate deal for our DVD. There's always been so much red tape with DVDs, and we want to make sure we do it right. We're actually recording the majority of the footage over Christmas break during my label's annual Stillborn Fest. I'm hoping for a May or June 2008 DVD release."

According to Jamey, HATEBREED's next studio release will be a "covers" albums, which will include the band's versions of songs from such varied acts as CRO-MAGS, CROWBAR, D.R.I. and METALLICA. More information will be made available soon.

hatebreed isn't the greatest band... But cmon roadrunner, quit cramming trivium down our throats and focus on your bands that actually have some talent

Roadrunner used to be decent, but suck now. Agreed to post 1 and 2. I cant read post 61 to 68 of the Hatebreed song issues thing or post as my phone is dumb and has little memory. I cant wait to take a sledgehammer to this p.o.s phone!

Yeah Roadrunner has a few decent bands:
Airbourne
Devildriver
Down
Divine Herersy
MACHINE HEAD
Most Precious Blood
Terror

But these bands are not big enough for the label to make a profit (besides Machine Head).
So the label promotes the more popular bands like Slipknot or Trivium

its the same as what i just listed (minus Satyricon) but add Machine Head and their you have all the good bands on a label that use to have Deicide, Pestilence, Death, Cynic, King Diamond, Mercyful Fate, and Fear Factory

roadrunner is a good label, but lately they've been signing some sh** bands. they need to sign some more metal-ish bands and let go of the old rock bands. but hatebreed isnt all that good of a band either. and i'd like to see what kind of metallica covers they would do. scream it all or sing it?

Sepultura aren't on Roadrunner anymore. They left after Nation because Roadrunner did nothing to promote the album. They're now signed to SPV, not sure if SPV has a U.S. branch, in which case I'm not sure who they're signed to in the States.
